This doesn’t make much sense since the appointment required Senate confirmation, and you’re advocating for something that is largely redundant on purpose, and inferior in every way (gives power to a single legislator, who represents a single district).

This is one of the worst ideas I’ve seen. It’s not only lacking any constitutional basis whatsoever, it’s fundamentally counter to it, infringing on powers granted to both the senate and the executive, and giving that power to a single person who represents 0.2% of the population.
