It's like coach O is all in on Burrow. One good lick on him or a concussion and Brennan is the man. I know, 5 and 0 and all is well. I'm concerned that Brennan needs a few more reps.

They need to choose his 4 games wisely. How you balance injury vs. getting him experience is not something I want to decide.

Me too. He probably doesn’t even attend practice since he isn’t starting.

This new rule will make some coaches have to scheme re: playing time, thats for sure.

We only have 7 games left, and 2 of those are UGA and BAMA, which i hope he doesn't play in

So there's only 5 possible, 6 with bowl game.

Assuming Burrow stays healthy, I wouldn't play Brennan until game 9 on. That leaves 3 regular season games and a bowl game for his 4 total games.

Don't want to risk playing him in one of the first 8 games and then needing him later on.

ETA: Games 10, 11, and 12 + bowl game. I suck at math.

This is the case whether he redshirts or not. If Burrow goes down they burn the redshirt and the decision is easy.

Brennan isn't going to improve enough with a few series in mop up duty to make a significant difference. If you believe he will, then I would argue Burrow needs them as much if not more considering how long he's been here.

If he is not ready, when needed, he will never be "ready". If he has the ability, then its up to him to stay prepared.
He has the arm. He has been in the program two years. What else does he need to be ready.

When Burrow goes to the sideline I see Loving or Sale come up to him and talk but Brennan seems very disengaged.

They need to sit Greedy Williams too. One good lick and we are toast.

We’ve never seen him in Ensminger’s offense. He might kill it. He’s certainly got the arm for these routes.

It’s aggregated me he hasn’t gotten playing time this year.

If there’s something to gripe at O about this would be my gripe.

That’s funny?

You don’t wish MB would have gotten more time thus far from mop up duty?

true but we need to cut out that qb running crap when the game is no longer in doubt, especially considering we have rbs that need every snap too.

I think you have to circle the Rice game for a couple of reasons.

1) This team needs to put the petal to the metal for all 4 quarters. They need to learn to go for the jugular. Run up the score? Sure.

2) Once step one is done, I think putting Brennan in for the entire 4th quarter should be a safe and necessary step. He needs some reps, but the game has to allow for it.
