Would you go to a bullfight in Spain?

Going to Spain in March. I haven't done any research to even see if one will be going on when we are in Barcelona or Madrid.
I am very far from a animal rights guy or leftist or SJW or anything about that. I get that the Spanish treat it as an artform and I respect that.
However, I really am not sure I am comfortable with it. It just seems cruel and a bit sad to me. I do not think I would enjoy it. Even though I eat meat, I tend to have a soft heart for animals. Maybe I'm way off.
Have you been to one? Should I check my vagina at the door and give it a try for the spectacle of it all?

Bloodsports are important. And yes, you should see one.

Yep. I think you should go. I have.
Also see of they have the youngsters doing the parkour style bullfights the day before or that morning. Those are awesome

They are now banned in Catalonia.

So if you think it’s cruel, don’t go. Many Spaniards agree with you.

I went in high school. I would never want to go again, but was glad I went.

Absolutely not. I despise animal cruelty in any form. But I wouldn’t tell you not to go either. See how Freedom works ?

We went after running with the bulls in 2014. After the first fight the four girls in our group were over it. After the second fight the guys were as well.
Glad I experienced it, but I don't have to ever see one again.

Yes, but I would understand anyone not wanting to do it.

One of the best experiences I've had in Europe

Not necessary. I went to one in Pamplona during San Fermin this year and I have no desire to go back. It starts out pretty cool, the whole crowd is there, all dressed in white and drunk and rowdy, chanting all sorts of stuff. When they bring out the bull, it's a series of guys that go out and stab it before the matador comes out. When the matador gets into the ring the "fight" is pretty much over and the guy just basically toys with the bull for a bit before stabbing it. These bulls are absolutely stunning animals - huge, powerful, majestic things and watching them suffer in their last moments is pretty uncomfortable. It's an important part of Spanish culture, and to hear the Spainards tell it the Toro Bravos live just about the best life a bull could hope to live for a few years before suffering those few minutes in the ring. It's brutal to watch but also somewhat beautiful at the same time and I can see why they revere it so much. The choice is up to you, but I had seen all I needed to see halfway through the fight (4 bulls) and I consider myself to have a pretty strong stomach when it comes to things of that nature.

I went in Madrid. I'm glad I did because it was quite an experience, but I will admit it is brutal.
Different cultures and traditions exist and I like to experience them, but it doesn't mean I'd advocate for it.
I doubt it will be around 20-30 years from now except maybe in smaller cities, as it's already banned in Catalonia and unpopular with many people throughout Spain.
You can always leave if you don't enjoy it. I enjoyed the crowd, the art, and the passion behind it, not necessarily the terrorizing of the bulls.

Never been to a bullfight but had the Valencia Bullring all to myself back in December. Went onto the dirt and just looked around and took it all in. It was a pretty neat experience.
