It's a lifestyle promoted by Dr. Jack Kruse. Fundamentally, it's lifestyle that leads to optimizing your life around receiving daily sunlight which triggers all the healthy mechanisms in the body starting in the mitochondria.
Dr. Kruse is Neurosurgeon and practices in New Orleans. He originally studied oral surgery at LSU but subsequently switched to neurosurgery.
15 years ago he moved his family from Nashville to a lower latitude in New Orleans to take advantage of the beneficial wavelength patterns at lower latitudes. He attributes his weight loss (over 125 pounds) and his wife's weight loss to this life style.

If you are a mitochondrite, how have you changed your daily routine?

I'm just discovering this lifestyle so I'm learning about it. Let's just say and it's my understanding after reading Dr. Kruse's blog that a proper daily dose of sunlight keeps the mitochondria happy.

Does he say anything about vitamin D3 supplements?

I edited but great point.
Ever think about why we golf, go to the beach, fish, etc.?
Sunlight--->dopamine---->feels good.

Yeah, i work indoors. And when I do get to get out and do stuff outside. I feel lots better and even sleep better.

I've seen two videos by him. One 45 minute video where he discusses damage that fluoride does to our bodies and another 2 hour video (seminar to other doctors) where he discusses the physiological pathways that are triggered by sunlight in the eye and the importance of those pathways being triggered on a regular basis to maintain total health. I have not heard him speak directly about vitamin D3 supplements yet but indirectly he has mentioned the importance of getting D3 from the sun.

In his talk about the eye he mentions that melatonin is produced during the day via the eyes. It is then released at night which helps you sleep.
That cycle gets screwed up when we don't get enough sunlight exposure during the day.

Well eff. My parents gave me fluoride drops as a baby. It may have made me stupider, but at least my teeth look nice

Journal of Cell Science
My background is BioChem so this is something I am familiar with.
There is some poorly understood mechanism where light between 600nm and 700nm (red light) can influence cells in vivo to have a reaction, and when chlorophyll is introduced cells have the ability to create ATP (energy) exist in limited context.
With that said this is pretty much hog wash from the standpoint that Mitochondrial energy can be created from sunlight. That isn't to say that sunlight has a lot more healthy benefits besides what is being sold here. And I preface that statement with only doing 5 minutes of research into this subject incthe OP

The information of the presence of light is transmitted through eye cells, and that is the only function. The actual production happens in the brain (pineal gland).

For a neurosurgeon, he's kind of a dumbass. Sure it's the sunlight, but it's getting off your fat arse and going outside into the sunlight to sweat your fat arse off that's the actual cause of weight loss. Also, I think what he means by different wavelengths is humidity increase.

This dude sounds like a complete quack. Being a good neurosurgeon doesn't mean he isn't prone to crazy shite like thinking "beneficial wavelength patterns at lower latitudes" helped him lose weight.

Why not move to the equator? Does a few hindred miles really change the suns wavelength that much?
