We could end racism in about two generations if Kaepernick was made the spokesperson for vaccinations.

What a time to be alive.

You know I’ve never participated in boycotts or avoided a brand because of political stands. However, I am going this weekend to buy a new pair of shoes to work out in and I will not be purchasing Nike. I would have before this political stance they took as I already had the shoes picked out. Now I’ll just buy another brand.
I strongly disagree with kapernick’s methods of political protesting. To me, it’s offensive, disrespectful, and self adulative. I think he is a poor quality person. I think he is disrespectful, ungrateful, and someone not to be admired. Nike has chosen to rub him and his actions in the faces of those who don’t like him, his stances, and the way he chooses to communicate those stances.
I’m just one person. I know that my not buying a pair of shoes from Nike won’t affect their bottom line. But that’s not the point. This is about me and choosing where or where not to spend my money. And I don’t want a pair of shoes from a company that proudly and forcefully expresses political stances that I profoundly view as silly, disrespectful, misguided, and insulting.
So Nike lost me as a customer. It may not matter to them and that’s fine. I don’t care. I feel better not having their product. That’s it. Everyone can do what they want. If you don’t care and buy Nike, go ahead. It won’t bother me.

I won't buy Nike anymore, but consider this my only social media post regarding the topic.

That isn't something you do with it.
I don't have to explain that, do I?
So, I'll ask again. What should be done with Nike stuff already owned? Just leave it in your closet out of protest? That's pretty hardcore.

If Trump says jump off a cliff, i guess you will be jumping.

No I’m good. I don’t let a clothing company hurt my little feelings.
You guys are just as bad as the sky screamers. Every bit as silly and ridiculous as the wackos on the left. I can’t imagine living my life with getting offended so easily.
And I say this as a Purple Heart vet who doesn’t give a crap about the anthem protest. I don’t worship the state and the flag to the point of getting my wittle feelings hurt.

I totally agree. Trump gets his feelings hurt and he goes off the deep end and tries to hurt others financially. Last time i checked, Nike stocks rebounded. TBH, I think they will see more products flying off the shelves due to the demographics who buy Nike.
If you didnt see his rally last night he is already blaming his base if he is impeached.
He cares for no one but himself.

It should be more offensive to anyone here that people want to force him to behave a certain way. frick that.
I don't particularly like how he chose to protest, but I don't find it remotely offensive or disrespectful. No thinking person should.
Self adulation. We agree on that 100%.

I don’t usually buy their stuff, but someone got me a pair of their shorts earlier this year that are comfy as frick. You can eat a dick if you think i’m Not wearing them.
But i’ll Probably buy another brand if I ever have cause to buy another product going forward.
They’ve already got my money with stuff I have. I’m not going to deny myself things i’ve Already Paid for

Love my Nike golf shoes. So comfy and stylish

The only real thing that bothers me about the Nike/Kaep uninion, is that they are allowing a guy who endorsed Fidel Castro to endorse their company. Fidel Castro is about as close to a modern day Hitler as it can get. Any white person makes the statements about Castro that he has, they'd get run over by the outrage bus.

Cool. I just think it's funny that you are at least willing to buy Adolf Hitler shoes because that is the best product for you.
I'm not comparing Hitler to Kaepernick in a serious way, but, rather, only to make an observation WRT how institutions take our minds for granted and believe that we are easily persuaded by propaganda.
You're willing to say that you are not going to be persuaded by advertising propaganda tactics, and, IMHO that's a good lesson for us all.
