Having a hard time seeing Jim Halpert as a badass

I liked it but you’re right, the writing is a little to be desired

Like in the last scene of Ep 1, they just sit there for 10 minutes and watch the most wanted terriost drive away. Nobody called it in. They’d have jets scrambled within 5 minutes

I’m excited for it, plan on starting it this afternoon.

Homeland is still good IMO and season 1 won the Emmy and Golden Globe for best series and was brilliant. They don’t exactly give those away to the worst written show in recent memory

That’s a great example, they wanted that shot, and so they ignored logic to create it.

Another small example is the bicycle hang up in the opening. They play fast and loose with DC geography because they wanted that scene.

When you do that, you undermine dramatic tension.

They talk about this villain in the opening who somehow appeals to both Sunni and Shi’a.

That’s just not a thing.

And a Shi’a Isis affiliate?

That just makes my head hurt

I agree. Let’s just enjoy this. It’s not going to win any Emmys but it’s a fun popcorn watch

I heard it takes 2-3 episodes to get use to John K, so I’m excited to see where it goes

Jack Ryan is not an action hero. He's an analyst.

Do they stick to this concept with the show, or do they juice up his fighting prowess and turn him into a badass? That's my main concern with it.
