Direct quote from the link:

Donald Trump’s party pushed through unpopular tax breaks,

How unpopular? Like 30 to 20? Or maybe 304 to 227?
That unpopular?

Just like I predicted, despite all the predictioms that the cuts would pay for themselves and nothing need be cut.

From the article:
quote:

modest budget shortfall

$500 Billion a year: Modest budget shortfall.

quote:

social security

Cuts to SS are going to entail a higher age to draw, which is responsible considering the SS deficits themselves, and the lengthening age of retirees. Oh yeah, and also the huge numbers of people coming in to the country who haven't paid anything in to the system and are just drawing from it.

I'm against touching Medicare and SS until Medicaid and welfare are reformed.

Why do cuts have to "pay for themselves"?

if you cut taxes without cutting spending you just sink the country in to more debt. i was pretty pissed about the growing debt under bush and obama and i'm still pretty pissed about it under trump.

There is a lot of stuff that needs to be cut long before Medicare and Social Security. Besides... until you hear Trump saying Medicare and Social Security cuts need to happen, they aren't going to happen. Trump isn't going to put up with the waste we have in unnecessary bullshite programs and make cuts in these 2.

Just shut the frick up.

Time to slash entitlements. There's lots of opportunities to work and the tax cuts were great for all workers. Gotta get people off the government tit.

Are you talking about the tax cuts? You think the deficit is rising because of a decrease in tax revenue? Perhaps do a modicum of research before making a fool of yourself. Like you did here.

The vicious cycle.

The Republicans cut taxes.
The economy heats up.
Tax revenue increases due to economic growth.

Liberals calculate what revenue would have been in the new economy without tax cuts - ignoring that tax cuts were the reason for the economic growth...

you fricking retard. Revenues are up 10% over last year, it's just spending is rising faster, out of control. You act like trimming the 2 most massive bloated federal programs is a negative. Approximately 1/3 of Medicare spending is fraud or waste anyway.

Interesting.

Could you prove or give a link to where 1/3 is waste and fraud in Medicaid? Just as a factual proof thing.
