re: Brennan has kind of attached himself to Burrow’s hip and is learning from him

My point was Ree said Glennon looked skinnier than Brennon. I was just pointing out not only was his wrong but wrong by 40lbs.
Well yes I did. I don't care if he weighs 150 pounds more. Like I said, it does not look like it.
The Brennan pics are from last season or high school:

Why are you comparing NFL players’ current weight to a sophomore in college?
How much did Glennon weigh his sophomore year in college?

My 20 pounds was due to the main courses (liquid) served at Tony Drago's Tiger Lounge and those from the Cotton Club, both were on Highland Road. Also tipped a few Jax beers at the Pastime out Nicholson. Late 50s early 60s. Those were the days. Still left LSU with two degrees and lots of memories. Geaux Burreaux and Brennan and Tigers.

hell, I wasted a lot of time at those joints too! my bookie worked the cotton club and the pastime was just great atmosphere; shrimp po-boys under 2 bucks (bookies worked there also but I was loyal to Earl the Pearl at the Cotton Club).

That was Glennon’s combine weight. Ree posted current pics of Glennon as a comparison. Glennon barely played as a Soph. Maybe he needed to gain weight like our boy Brennan.

Great, but why does he have to learn from another player. If he had had a coach for the last 1.5 years, he or one of the transfers should have been ready to step in.
and why do you have to blame the coach when a player isn't as good as you think they should be. the teacher/student dynamics, while necessitating both to be good REQUIRES the student to be the dominant factor to be a success. the teacher can't drill a hole in the students head and fill it full of info. and even if he could, that doesn't mean it would translate to the field during live action.
I could say something about how lazy young people are these days and expect others to do their work for them but it was true in my day too.

Well he is in the NFL now and has been since 2013 and still looks skinnier than Brennan. He must be very good at recovering from being snapped in half.

but he will get snapped in half at his current weight
I have seen this said a lot on this board and don't really understand the reasoning for this comment.
Most of the time QB is receiving a blow in a prone up right position or basically just trying to protect himself from a hit. You obviously have never played competitive football. You are coached from the earliest age that you are much more likely to get hurt when not going full speed or just protecting yourself. Very seldom do you see even the most active of running QB's get hurt running. It is always when they are in the pocket or in the process of delivering a pass. A bigger QB with more weight on him can better absorb a hit. Not always because obviously some guys are just more fragile. But for the most part a heavier QB will hold up better from contact.

Brennan should be commended.
Right now exactly that is his job, and is what is best for him personally.
It is also what we need to [potentially] break the cycle of poor QB development. Other things also need to happen, but this is one of them.

QBs doesn’t get lit up that often
QBs have to stand in the pocket and throw knowing they are going to get hit with their bodies exposed all the time. A running back with the ball can brace for a hit and is also delivering force himself. A QB is a sitting duck and has to be able to withstand those hits throughout a season.

Burrow is a 4.6 40 guy. Kid can move. He was actually faster than Haskins.

Seriously bro!! He is 40 POUNDS HEAVIER! They are about the same height. I guarantee if they stood next to each other u could easily tell who was more physically stout.

Sounds like Brennan wants to continue to grow and become better. Taking it all in. Props to him.

Combine =/= sophomore in college
Posted on 8/17/18 at 6:51 pm to STEVED00
Okay. Ree compared him to current day Glennon bc Brennan “looks like” him. I said that was a ridiculous comparison and backed it up with real #s.

Yeah, this is total bullshite.
"but fans are often worried about the durability of a "running quarterback." Prolific runners like Randall Cunningham, Donovan McNabb, Daunte Culpepper and Michael Vick all suffered at least one significant season-ending injury in their careers. Sometimes it takes an extra season before the player gets back on track; as a worst-case scenario, Culpepper was never himself again."
"We have a good recent example as well. Robert Griffin III had a great rookie season, but multiple injuries, including the very serious torn ACL, certainly had an impact on his significant regression in 2013."

""I'd probably pick Luck,” Polian said. “When you boil it all down, you worry about running quarterbacks getting hurt.""

Yep, still bullshite. Once you start spewing it's hard to stop.

Yeah, I would like to see proof of this. It is easy enough to say and repeat over and over but where are the facts to back it up.
