Like many others, I was critical of the Orgeron hire in December 2016. It was a culmination of what I believe was a year-long mismanagement of LSU football which began with the botched firing of Les Miles in 2015.
Our frustrations grew to a boiling point after embarrassing losses to Miss State and Troy in 2017 combined with reports of a rift between Orgeron and OC Matt Canada. As an LSU fan, it would have been un-natural at that time to not have genuine concerns about the direction our program was headed under Orgeron. To Orgeron and the team's credit, they avoided disaster amidst tremendous fan discontent and rebounded strong to close out the regular season. While the bowl game and Ensminger promotion left us scratching our heads, bringing in Joe Burrow gave us all a much-needed jolt of excitement and optimism.
So here we are ... 2018 and Year2 of the Orgeron regime. Orgeron was not my choice, and I'll probably always believe it was the wrong hire at the time given the circumstances, but Orgeron and I do have at least one thing in common ... We both want LSU to win and compete at the highest levels. I'm hopeful that Orgeron and LSU can do that in 2018, and I believe we have the potential to win 10+ games. Orgeron's performance will be evaluated at the appropriate time, but as long as he is the head coach at LSU I will cheer for him and his team and root for their success.
I am certainly not an unbiased observer ... I have a passion for LSU football and will have opinions (positive and negative) of the events that unfold in the future, but I've got a feeling that Orgeron and the 2018 LSU team will surprise a lot of people. It may be unwarranted, and it may be overly optimistic, but I think we are going to see some very good things this year. Do I have concerns? ... Absolutely. But it "feels" to me that we've got enough pieces in place to make some noise this year.
Maybe I've "seen the light," or maybe I'm just desperate for some LSU football success, but I'm on board and ready for the 2018 season, which I fully expect to be a 10+ win season.

I can’t even argue with you. As bad as I want to call Orgeron the clown he is and abandon thread, I agree with you.
I’m just excited for some LSU football and at this point, let whatever happens, happen.

I am with you. Hoping we have a successful season, and win more than the experts predict we will. Just feel sorry that you are about to feel the wrath of all those on here that aren't fans of Coach O. They love to tear down any that try to look at the positives.

How much is Derek paying you? I’ll double it if you stop it.

I hate the O hire. Well really just the lack of a search. I don’t blame O, I blame Alleva.
I also hope O win the national title next year.
I will do what I’ve done since I was 6- desperately root for LSU to win.
Not liking the hire doesn’t mean we want to fail.

I agree but will stop right there A lot has to go right to win 10 games and there is a lot, almost to much to overlook especially on offense & the lack of experience at the skilled positions. Now the team is down two qb's god forbid an injury strikes anywhere on the team which is unlikely. 18 days to kick off we will know more then.
My sights are on Cregg & what he will be able to accomplish. We all know & love the defense I hope they curb stomp everyone into thinking they won the super bowl because they scored a fg. Here's to short fields & special teams too!

Well, if that's all that it takes . . .

O always gets the benefit of the doubt. As if we don't have enough to go on to evaluate his performance.

OP will start some type of “Fire O/Alleva/Alexander” petition before October.

Alleva absolutely has to go.
I didn't like the Orgeron hire, but Alleva was to blame, not Orgeron.

For at least 18 days, we are undefeated!
Hoping we keep the loss column at 0 for a while.
