Fully support, and for every dollar we cut we should cut 2 dollars out of what’s left in the federal budget

Yes. We could easily cut spending by 10-15% and become efficient while maintaining same level of defense.

For every dollar cut from military spending match it with 2 dollars cut from welfare programs and then we'll talk.
Sounds good. I’d be curious if you consider social security or Medicare to be welfare.

Cuts would be reasonable to discuss if they weren't just going to ruin people's lives by kicking them out - and that's what always happens with cuts. We purged tens of thousands of people during the Obama cuts and many of them got bad paper based on fabricated reasons so DoD could avoid giving separation pay and avoid having to make more difficult decisions on who to cut, who to keep. DoD also abused things like PTSD and kicked people out that had PTSD, claiming they had personality disorders and then when busted, they completely blew off oversight efforts from Congress and failed to follow their own regulations.
Also, every time we make cuts, in addition to purging people with experience, we cut operational funds, training funds, maintenance funds.
All of these add up to putting more Americans in the ground than ought to be there.
frick YOU to every one of you that wants cuts. You just want Americans killed.
Preach accountability for the dollars spent and maybe you have some credibility.

I’m fine with it but why do you think the military should be cut 50% less than the rest of government spending (social security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Anything else is irrelevant)

If you're collecting an Old Age Pension or Disability Insurance Benefits (DIB), you've at least paid into the system for a minimum of 40 quarters. And the government still deducts $134 per month for your Medicare Part B premium.
People receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) who are on Medicaid have little argument that their income and healthcare isn't welfare.

I think I read we spend more on our military than the next 10 countries combined, 7 of which are allies. So yes, we can drastically cut military spending... starting with foreign bases and then arms contractors.
If we only spend as much as the next 5 combined, would we really be less safe?

I am VERY patriotic and pro-military. We needed to increase military spending over Obama's reductions, but, I think Trump went overboard a little. I really believe about a 7 or 8% cut NEXT YEAR would be acceptable. My father was a 24 yr. Air Force pilot, B-17's and B-52's. He went all over the world bombing from 1939 to 1964. He retired in early Viet Nam. He often said we have too many bases all over the world, too expensive. Wasteful bad. Not needed NOW. Cut the UN and NATO too. Get out of Arab countries, they hate us.

I'd rather cut the over 60% of ALL of government spending that is handouts. At least the defense is an actual government job.

Cut it in half.

I do support this, though. The military's job is to be as deadly as possible. Learning about sexual assault, trannies, and women in the combat arms (really women in the military in general) are things that hamper our military readiness.

Product of bloated, never ending budgets as much as the egalitarianism scourge.

fricking this!!!! Why is it that whenever cutting spending comes around the military is always the first thing out of people's mouths, when in reality it's the handouts that are causing taxes to go up and spending to be rampant? Military is probably the last thing that should ever be cut.

What do you mean by handouts exactly? Medicare and SS?
