The difference in the OP's scenario is that the quarterback is in the heisman race, not the running back. I'm sure the capability of the offense (no matter the scheme) would be good enough to beat Alabama. Especially since they are replacing their entire secondary this year.

shite, I will settle for an offense that can beat the likes of Troy, Mississippi State, and ND. We don't have to beat the best, but how about beating teams who are far from the best?
