I don't care what you guys say about Bama frat boys playing defense, Spivey's video looks better than Cain's

Not pointing out any particular poster, but you guys need to temper your expectations on Curry a bit.
You would literally think M. Lynch is about to suit up in the fall with all the hype he is getting on here.

I just like the kid. Seems like a really hard worker and has the eye of the tiger tattooed on his forearm.

I like Curry, but I don't think he's the next Lynch. Like I said, the video shows some really bad defenses.

Emery may change his mind by December, but it seems like we have a much better shot at Spivey and Cain so that’s where we need to focus. We don’t need to be left at the alter on signing day.

Emery looks great in his film. But, the competition level is a little lower
Maybe I’m misreading this, but playing 5A football in the River Parishes is SOLID competition.

You are also forgetting Williams redshirted due to size his freshman year, you don’t think his frame played a part in him not being ranked higher?
Don't know and don't care what played a part in his not being ranked higher. But, this helps make my point. You can't rely solely on recruiting rankings. You can go by how much they help their team in college and if they play in the NFL.

Speaking of the NFL draft, go look at how many top 100 recruits are projected to be in the first round. I sure see a lot of former 5 stars in the mocks
Good. I'm not saying they are NEVER right but I would bet a lot of money they are wrong more than they are correct.
"So Drew Brees & Marques Colston didn’t Rank NO stars. So These two Men carried a Franchise to the Super Bowl BUT...Completely missed in the Recruiting Game! "

I think this guy was the leading rusher in the NFL last year:

The information below is from JUST the 2017 NFL pro bowl.
Tom Brady wasn't a ranked prospect coming out of high school.
did a little research surrounding this year's Pro Bowl roster. He found 37 of the 88 players headed to the NFL Pro Bowl were 3-star or lower recruits. Interesting stuff.

Cain isn’t committing until December.
Just like Donte Starks didn't commit until July 8th. Stating what a high school player like it is fact is pretty hysterical.
quote:
also said Tua’s brother was coming to LSU and that ish ain’t happening.
I have no idea but again it doesn't come off as being very bright to quote "FACT" about what a high school player will or will not do. EVEN if you personally know them.

Being able to run wildly east and west, and out athlete to beat defenders in high school doesn’t always translate to the college game well. So watching a highlight real of lower level competition proves nothing at this point.
Cain’s film, however, displays a running style that is college ready. He sets up defenders into blocks beautifully,, has amazing power and balance, and best of all has elite vision.
For anyone to knock Cain as anything less than elite is foolish. He shared the backfield with the top rated back for 19 and a top four back that enrolled at OU in 18. His touches should increase his senior year. Look at his sophomore film when he was the feature back. Kids a beast

Dude stop posting. Spivey is not better than Cain. It's definitely debatable that Cain isn't better than Emery though. He's not some sloppy second RB for LSU though. He's elite Emery just might be more elite.

You know how many kids play high school football? They cant scout each and every high school in the nation.
Sure seems like the recruiting rankings do a pretty good job

Great news. Cain will be amazing here, he’ll be a better back than Emery.

You really can't go off those Hudl numbers unless the have a green check next to them, Cain is not a 4.4 guy. Also his sophomore film at Guyer is better than his junior film at IMG.
He might not be that explosive back but he does everything else well. Has great feet and balance, good vision, good leg drive as he always finishes his runs, good in pass protection, and also shows the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield.

In short: One is slow as molasses and has gotten worse since his freshmen year. And the other is significantly faster and hasn't even touch his potential yet - and he's better than Cain right now.
I wouldn't say all that, but if we strike out on Emery and Cain, I'd take Spivey in a heartbeat. After watching Cain's junior tape he looks like a complete back, and by that I mean pass blocking, and receiving. I love that they show him pass blocking as a highlight (something you almost never see in a RB's highlight film). That will get him snaps before any other freshman back.

Using which TE gets more snaps on an LSU team to determine if the recruiting rating system usually works is laughable.
How about an article from one of the paid recruiting sites about LSU's lowest rated recruits the past 10 years? I can't believe there are people on this recruiting board that don't know to take recruiting rankings with a grain of salt.
I'm trying to device if your exactly what you're trying to prove? That sometimes guy gets through the system and is ranked improperly? So this list of guys is supposed somehow disprove my statement that recruiting system usually works?
It seems to me it does just the opposite. Here is a stat for you.
Here is an article from SBNation about rankings
quote:
Five-stars make up less than one percent of Division I recruits, yet five percent of the AFC and NFC Championship starters.
That doesn’t seem random. Five-stars make up 0.6 percent of all Division I scholarship recruits, but five percent of the starters. That an over-representation by eight times.
Four-stars make up just nine percent of Division I recruits, yet 18 percent of the AFC and NFC Championship starters.
That doesn’t seem random, either. I made a meme for this.
I try to take EVERYTHING regarding college and pro sports with a grain of salt. But the recruiting system generally works, it's up to recruiters and coaches to identify those diamonds in the rough that the recruiting services miss, often due to lack of playing time of available video on a kid but sometimes due to the fact that kids mature physically at different rates.
But I will say that based on your list it sure looks like Miles and company could identify unrecognized raw talent despite missing the cues on Dak Prescott (like everyone else did except Mullen).

Don’t try to bring facts to this dude. He’s convinced every 3* is better than every 5*, until one commits to us. Then the recruiting service is right and CEO is the greatest recruiter ever
