Isn't there a law against all these loudass cars that don't seem to be going over the speed limit but are purposely loud as hell as they accelerate? It's more like "Hey look at me" but they never seemed to get busted? What's the deal? Germans?

It against the law an it's a ticket I love to write. It's called modified exhaust. I write them every chance I get. Cars and motorbikes. I find them obnoxious and irritating. You want attention, you got it.
§353. Modification of exhaust systems
No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the motor of such vehicle, above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle and the original muffler shall comply with all of the requirements of R.S. 32:352.
How do you prove in court that the modified exhaust on my car is louder than the one originally installed on the vehicle? Do you have the muffler that was originally installed on the vehicle for comparison? You might be tempted to bring up the volume of a car very similar to mine, but that's not my vehicle, and the law is very clear. It doesn't say that my new muffler can't be louder than a muffler originally installed on a very similar car, it says that my new muffler can't be louder than THE muffler originally installed on THE vehicle. It doesn't say I can't modify my exhaust, either.
