what don't you understand?
Growing industry "standard" was for Sales representatives to bribe doctors to prescribe their pills.
This, in particular, is about pushing pills down your Mom's throat while creating a secondary illegal pill-sharing drug ring that was considered common process largely due to it's lack of regulation.
You people can't look beyond your pocket books.
The pharmaceutical industry was created from this. The 100-billion dollar industry is tainted by this.
Unregulated capitalism allowed this.

The doctors who knowingly addict their patients to these pills for kickbacks should lose their licenses and be jailed. The doctors are as big of an issue as the "corporations."

ok, I guess this would be regulated capitalism.
But...regulated to do what? Make $$$. Erratic drug usage was an afterthought.

absolutely. But, this isn't about the Doctors. And, being the lower man on the totem pole, many of them have and will continue to be axed quite easily.

I know plenty about free market.
Look at what our free market allowed Big Pharma to become. Many of you would argue that regulation created Big Pharma. No, regulation has protected Big Pharma.

You can't use big pharma and capitalism in the same sentence, unless you add the qualifier "crony". When they donate to get politicians in power who make laws that favor them and then transition from pharma companies to lobbyists and even cabinet positions and vice-versa, you have moved beyond capitalism.

how is an industry that, at the very least, made a legal regulation on who gets to determine the recipients of this product, "unregulated"?
your example is a highly regulated system where the government gatekeepers granted the exclusive licenses to distribute these drugs, failed. what does this have to do with "unregulated capitalism"?

the industry failed? As in, it wasn't set up to be the way it is? As in, capitalists looking to make a buck didn't see or lobby to create loopholes within our government to make money?
Yeah, that's heavily regulated alright...

She was and is a big part of the problem. She and her name helped sustain that erosion of our society.
I can tell you that not many things make me sicker to think about the amount of people clocked up for illegal drug usage and/or distribution when so many Mom's pill swap clubs did it (and still do it) while remaining unscathed.

right, you've moved into unregulated capitalism. Or, let's say absent from regulation capitalism.
