Best system for a 7 yr old

I’m looking to get my son a game system. I not really into gaming and I’m definitely out of touch on the new systems. Just from google it seems like the Nintendo Switch would probably be the best for a young kid. He also has a 4yr brother that might try to play also. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

PS4 Pro with Bloodborne, Doom, last of us, and God of War

If you're going new system, it's the Switch, and it's not really close.
Otherwise, I'd consider going with one of the retro console re-releases.

Someone here can probably post the links to make a raspberry pi gaming system thingy. I want to do it and I think you can do it for like 150 bucks (or less). You'll be the dad of the year showing him all those games!
Makes me think of that joke from Katt Williams....you can buy him the Nikes or a bunch of batman/superman shoes.

I’m looking at the MARIO Odyssey bundle for him. Just from looking I guess I’ll have to buy a SD card too?

PC. Don’t let your kid grow up to be a peasant.

I do not think you need an SD card if you are buying the physical copies. Someone here will hopefully comment on that question because I do not know.

SD card will only matter if you buy digitals or a shite ton of physicals

Also, my son started gaming on WoW around 6, so that is doable

I don't have an SD card
Right now I have Mario, Xenoblade Chronicles, I am Setsuna, and a couple of smaller indie games installed on the switch.
Breath of the wild is a physical cartridge. If you do all digital downloads eventually you'll run out of space. But as I understand it you can just delete and download again without the requirement to repurchase.

Get Mario Kart, then school both of your kids nightly so they respect you more

Don't get the switch without researching a pi. Mine has 3-4k games from Nintendo/super Nintendo, sega, etc. Let him grow up how 90s kids had to. Sitting on the floor in front of the tv learning the importance of having 1st player.
