Well national guard and reserves are for the guys who didn’t have the balls to join active duty.
Huggggggge difference being an active duty military member versus a tampon.
Have you been both?
I did both active duty and national guard. I can’t say how it is now, but when I came off active duty to guard in the early 90s, the biggest difference I noticed was the guard was not as stringent on military discipline. The first guard unit I joined after active duty though was a round-out Armor battalion for 2nd Armor Div. so the actual combat training was almost on the same level of proficiency that is grown accustomed to on active duty. But I will say that as the 90s progressed and the military cutbacks Clinton implemented eroded that level of readiness considerably.
