Updated Depth Chart

Can anyone add to this thread and updated depth chart as of today? I would like to see which spots we have depth and which ones we are lacking before the draft. I can't seem to find one that is up to date. Still see players like Vaccaro and others in the charts.

Some dude posted this a couple of weeks ago. Don’t remember who it was but this is pretty good. LINK

Wouldn’t PRob be the likely starter over PJ Williams at NB?

Damn, we need some Oline depth.

Yea, likely Meredith would play over Snead, too.

Yeah I'm starting to think this may be the biggest position of need. If we lose a starter, we won't be sitting too pretty.

Pretty much. After we signed Meredith...OL depth & DE (insurance for Okafor) are easily the 2 biggest needs for the 2018 season.
Good news is that our top 2 remaining targets in free agency seem to be OT Austin Howard & DE Robert Ayers. Actually I think that those are our only F.A. targets left. Snead as well if you count him.
We could still use another WR, but we should be ok if Snead signs his tender. That would give us a solid 1, 2, 3, & 4. Tommylee & Carr are good candidates for #5 or possibly even #6 (if we decide to keep that many...we kept 6 last year). We really wouldn't need to draft a WR, but if a target falls in our lap...I assume that we would take them (whatever round it may be).

DE Robert Ayers
Is this a guess or did he actually have a visit here?
On Snead, he has to sign to tender if he wants to play football, and he isn't going to throw away $2 mil. He'll be on the team unless someone signs him to an offer sheet (which can't happen until he signs the tender) right near the deadline.

There was an article about 3 weeks ago that talked about Ayers meeting with teams in the NFC South after he was cut by Tampa.
It's not as strong as a visit (like Austin Howard), but there is supposed to be interest from the Saints. It would make a lot of sense as well. He's not as good of a pass rusher (he's 32 years old), but he's still damn good against the run.
I doubt we bring in a pass rusher unless it's from the draft. If we fail to draft a pass rusher...we'll have to pray that Okafor is good to go, or depend on Kikaha/Muhammad as situational pass rushers.
On Snead...I'm saying if he signs his tender, b/c the Saints can still pull the offer (at least I think they can). At this point...I doubt another team signs him to an offer sheet. All that said...I'm assuming he plays here in 2018 for 1.907 mil.

Unless we are signing Bryant out the blue, we aren't pulling the tender. We would have done so after getting Meredith if that was the case. We aren't so flush with guys that we'd pull an offer of only $2 mil on a guy who had back to back 900 yard seasons.
On Ayers, if it was us and we were pursuing him seriously I think we'd have brought him in for a visit by now. I can see him maybe being a post draft depth signing if we don't draft a DE.

Here's the thread about Ayers LINK
Doesn't mention the Saints specifically, but hopefully they have interest. I'd say we're in the drivers seat to sign Austin Howard. No idea on Ayers though, b/c that was the last update on him in free agency. We might lead for him or he might not even have any interest in playing here.

Some notes about that depth chart...WR Brandon Coleman, OT Bryce Harris, OC Jack Allen, DT David Parry, & CB Delvin Breaux aren't on the current roster. Here's the complete current roster LINK in the 2018 off-season thread pinned at the top of the page. I use Overthecap & Spotrac as a reference.
-Meredith will probably be playing over Snead. At least you would assume so at this point.
-If healthy...Okafor will play DE over Rankins. I assume the FO will do everything they can to make sure that Rankins will be playing DT.
-Most of these sites have been doing this for the last 2 years, but Kikaha isn't a LB in our defense (unless it's an emergency like that 1 game last year). He's a situational pass rusher at DE.
-PRob is the starting nickelback. PJ Williams will be the 1st CB off the bench if Lattimore, Crawley, or PRob gets injured. PJ can play outside & the nickel.
-I seriously doubt that Justin Hardee will be counted on as a backup CB. Maulet would probably get playing time over Hardee. Special teams is the only reason why Hardee is on the roster.
-Depending on the situation...Kurt Coleman & Vonn Bell will probably rotate all game long. If Marcus Williams gets injured...Kurt Coleman will definitely replace him at FS. At least we have a backup for Marcus Williams this year.
