Carson, with the utmost of inconspicuous inflections in my voice, i say I’m relieved you survived this harrowing ordeal. I’ll have Raymond send you a fruit basket and some magazines. Please take care.

sounds like me, though the pain is more to the front this morning.

Most likely kidney stones. Drink TONS of water and pee as often as you can. I have them frequently and that sounds like many of the symptoms of kidney stones.

Goddam you people are pussies.
When I was your age we looked forward to tap-dancing through mine fields before sunrise to distract ourselves because we hadn’t eaten in three days and we had dysentery, rubella, and German measles.
tl/dr: growing up in the 1910s was HARD

Our bodies don't lie and when in excruciating pain, it's telling us something is wrong. I'd go to the walk-in clinic, your GP, or a urologist just to confirm the diagnosis and medical treatment recommendations. Kidney stones will eventually pass, possible appendicitis can cause severe complications and requires immediate medical attention. I've had kidney stones twice and I felt like I was dying each time.

sounds like its a big possibility.

I have a friend that suffered with diverticulitis at age 18. Went misdiagnosed for 4 years because of her age. But probably a kidney stone. I’ve passed one, hurts like hell. Like others have said, drink a lot of water and cranberry juice.

Had the same shite. Many times. Then they found out it was my gall bladder. Here's the coolest part. They removed it, and I still had attacks a few times before they finally stopped happening.
Did you tend to want to be curled up when the pain hit?
*edit*
Also, mine was more center alignment and chest cavity area... feels like someone really strong punching you in the solar plexus where you fold up and lose your air, on top of that extraordinary muscle cramps/seizing up.

I have had this same pain twice in the last year. Exactly like you said: front left side, bottom ribs to the belt. It felt like hell, but I wasn't dieing. I was still able to fall asleep. I might have a high pain tolerance, I don't know.
I did the googling and it returned all the same things. Diverticulitis, gas. I originally thought appendix too but i didn't seem to have those symptoms and or kidney stones symptoms either. I chalked it up to either gas or constipation, but I never took a huge dump or ripped a big fart. It just ended up passing.

Sounds like you are now passing the stone. Make sure to stay hydrated to keep it moving.

I realized that I needed to drink basically two gallons of water per day with the amount of activity I was doing at the time. I still drink a gallon each day, and I'm much more sedentary now.
If it was me and I didn't actually injure it, I'd wait it out until at least lunchtime

It's probably just that stick that always seems to be up your arse.

Do you take protein supplements when you work out? Those are hell on the kidneys and easily cause stones if you aren't drinking plenty of water
Posted on 4/13/18 at 9:21 am to Carson123987
If it's as bad as you're saying I think you should prioritize making it in to the doctor, maybe even emergency room or something. Don't frick around with your health.
