I would much rather honor parents who weren't famous but who made sure that their son or daughter was a success in life.
I imagine these celebrity athletes have an easier time with their child in athletics than some single mom who is scraping by.

What is this based off, their own personal accomplishments?

Wasn't he a big part of the Johnny Jones hire? That'll knock him down a few pegs.

Remember how Karl Malone impregnated a 13 year old when he was 20 and then contested the $125 a week child support? GOAT parent? I don't fricking think so. When Malone met his child for the first time (an 18 year old Demetress Bell -- former Buffalo Bills O-lineman), he told him "you're gonna have to get your own money." Besides that, he has several other illegitimate children that he never, or only recently, acknowledged as his. Malone is a rancid pile of trash, but he could dunk, though.

I would go with my parents all day as the GOAT’s. Brother played for Hallman and Dinardo.
Married 46 years, mom was disabled and had 62 operations. She died 3 years ago. Dad was a Nam vet (bronze star and 3 Purple Hearts) and worked for the same pipeline company for 35 years. He never missed a birthday party, ballgame, concert... or anything we did. Taught us how to shoot, fight, plant a garden, cut grass, sharpen a knife, skin a deer, chop wood, cook, iron clothes, change oil in a car, fix a flat. Legends!

My condolences to you and your family concerning your mother.
Your dad sounds pretty badass, but did he disown you when you told him?

Any list lacking the following displays a woeful ignorance of LSU and Louisiana athletics.
Glenn Hardin - 2x Olympic medalist; son Billy was an NCAA champion at LSU and 1964 Olympian
Dub Jones - NFL All-pro; 3x NFL champion as a player; 1x NFL champion as asst. coach. Son was a decent QB at LSU.

Bruce Hornsby should be rated higher.
That's just the way it is.
Some things will never change.

There's a Marcello bloodline if you look for it.
Posted on 4/13/18 at 12:38 am to Bill Parker?
Adam Walton was one of the worst players we've ever had on a hoops squad, Bill would have been higher had he sent one of his kids who could actually play.

Blair Barbier’s folks would be admitted to the tailgate HOF if one existed.
