Sex. In a world overwhelmingly obsessed with it, why is the church so silent about it? While our secular culture twists, perverts, cheapens, and idolizes sex, there are gaping holes in the church’s guidance of young people.

So you have to create a straw man to win an argument. You have to eliminate Christ from Christianity so you can make your trite remarks. Some reallly high level stuff.
I'll phrase it as elementary as I can.
- Christians call Jesus' sacrifice merciful.
- Mercy is the suspension of Justice.
- Jesus didn't have to die on the cross, he could have told Humanity to frick off and been 100% just in doing so.
- Had Jesus done that, Christians today would be stoning most of their daughters.
Which do you disagree with?

So we're to stone people (Old Testament) but at the same time not stone people (New Testament), and don't worry there's not a single inconsistency between the two?

This part is accurate. The rest of your post requires christians to disregard Christ. No matter how many times you repeat the straw man. Doesn't make it a sensible point. How old are you? It's very rare to see such a lack of self awareness.

I’d rather talk about that than mercy or justice or whatever he frick those other goobers are talking about

No, not disregard Christ.
Admit that justice = stone daughters. Only by "mercy" are you set free from that "justice".

In what world? One with Christianity minus Christ? That's not the world we live in. You aren't making any sense. Your mixture of ignorance and hubris is fascinating. Enjoy your trolling.

I think you must have missed the part where Jesus said this:
Matthew 5:17
"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them."
And also the part where this happened:
Matthew 27:51
"At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom..."
This signified the end of the Mosaic law for the Jews.
Old covenant...over.
New covenant...enacted.

Using Christian terminology of course.

Of course I am, you just don't like my tone. I freely said, in my original post, that Jesus fixed all this and that I'm happy Christians believe in Jesus because the alternative, at least within Christianity, was to think the Old Testament morality still applied and that means stoned daughters.
Again, I have to ask you, where exactly do you disagree with me? It seems you're just uncomfortable with the "justice" presented in the Old Testament...

So there was a difference between the two? Thanks because that's my stance as well.

I see another atheist that "doesn't believe" in God, but goes out of his way to knock him. You're spending a lot of time and melting pretty hard over something you don't believe in.
Are you trying to convince us or yourself that God doesn't exist?

Just making a contrary statement that the Old Testament isn't a good source of morality, especially when it comes to parenting, because it commands you to stone your daughter for not being a virgin on her wedding night.
Do you agree or disagree?

"So there was a difference between the two?"
There was most certainly a difference.
In Galatians 3:24, Paul explains further with his statement, "Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith."
The Mosaic law was always going to be a temporary thing.

We agree then, and (paraphrasing my original post) I'm glad Christians believe that Jesus' sacrifice nullified the Old Testament commandments or else they'd be stoning their non-virgin daughters which I hope we both can agree upon isn't a just prescription - even though the Old Testament asserts as such.

Ok, ok, ok...
Yall are right. It's not by Jesus' mercy that were able to abandon the Old Testament just commandments to stone your non-virgin daughters. Yall are right. What was I thinking? I'm just so out of it I apparently just need some sleep.
Night.

I think I'm understanding your logic here, but you are missing one key fact...without Christ, there are no Christians.
I am saying that if Jesus had not existed, there would have never been any law whatsoever. It was the fact that He did exist and was coming to earth to redeem mankind that the law ever existed in the first place. No Jesus, no law. He was before the law. The law was instituted to serve His purpose.

I'm so glad Christians believe Jesus came and died for them and somehow changed the objective morality present in the Old Testament, it'd be ashame for them to have to stone their daughters considering the vast majority are not virgins on their wedding days. EDIT: Out of love, of course.
I suppose you could kill your daughter for the family’s honor like the ‘Asians’ from predominantly muslim nations do.
