Anyone choosing a golf ball because of what it does off the tee alone is a dumbass.

I've always wanted a ball that was an auto slice.

Hate away, but the old Nike One Platinum balls were legit.

You are either a low handicapper or hit it a long way. For those that only hit it 240-250 they would rather have a ball that is 10 yards further, which actually allows them to use higher lofted clubs for approaches. Most people looking for more distance do not care as much about feel around the green because their games are not that good.

The ball is the last thing that you should think about for distance of the tee as an Am because there are 100 other things that could get you that 10 yds. A driver/shaft combo with less spin... higher/lower launch... draw/fade... or just 2 mph swing speed. Do lower swing speeds need lower compression? Yes, that helps. Then neither of these balls in the OP are for you anyway.

What good is having a 7 iron in your hand instead of a 6 if that 7 iron can't hold a green either because it's so strong lofted that the spin is crazy low or the ball you're using is meant for "distance"? And I get that most Ams don't have a ton of spin control to start with, but a better ball around the green could mean 20 ft of roll out instead of 30.

You use your driver about 10 times a round. That's barely over 10% of the time (if you break 100). You use your wedges and putter closer to 70%. Why would it be crazy to focus on the equipment we use so much more often?

Give. That the average male golfer only hits his driver 215 at 240-250 you're longer than most.
I "only" carry it about 250-260 but distance is not my number one concern. If you're playing from the correct tees 240-250 should be plenty of distance.

I can hit it plenty far, hitting it straight is my main concern. I don’t know if it’s the ball ir not, but I have a hard time losing the Bridgestone balls. (B330s and BX tour)

It has to take into account dudes who literally can't hit a golf ball. That and/or old men.
215?
My dad is 72 and might miss 2 fairways per round with his old arse ~225 yard drives.

It sure was and I played it. I liked the vapor before it, and I play the Bridgestone now. I’m just saying that playing a certain ball because Tiger is playing it is not the best policy for everyone.

Online ball fitting is telling me Tour RXS. I'll try it but love the new Chromesoft.

There is a direct correlation between handicap and distance. Most handicaps under 5 hit it only over 250. If you look at the tour most don't carry 300, I don't know why forum golfers try to act like everyone carries it 300; it is a rarity. Most don't carry it 250.
The vast majority of golfers overestimate their distance. I was guilty of it for a long time as well.

Yeah, uhh, the only distances I typed were 215 and 225.
