Has anyone ever taken the Tiger Stadium tour?

I am bringing the family down from Virginia for spring break and we are scheduled to tour Tiger Stadium and are going to the baseball game April 3. My boys are 9 and 11 and are fired up for this trip. Oh yeah, recommendations on restaurants...it has been 16 years since I have to Baton Rouge.

The tour is awesome! Go in the lockeroom, through the tunnel and onto the sidelines (they won’t let you walk on the actual field that is painted). My kids were 7,7, and 9 (boys and girls) and they loved it.

If you're wondering the location, it's off of Perkins, not too far from Acadian.
I've never taken the tour, so sorry, can't help you there. I hope y'all have a great trip, sounds like it'll be a good time for you and the family.

I've toured the baseball stadium, football ops building, Tiger Stadium (locker rooms through tunnel on field) and basketball practice facility.
Sometimes for the football stadium tour, they will take you into the Lawton Room and do a football hype video in surround sound.
I want to check out the gymnastics facility.
I took a group of Cub Scouts to tour the football ops.
You ought to check to see if they do any tours of the football ops building. That one was pretty cool.
I guess if it's during spring practice it might be hard to do though.

Back in 2013 I took the tour with the Collegiate Club as a freshman. They let us walk on the field so I took full advantage and went barefoot (at the field portion, not the entire tour). Got some great photos and panos from midfield. Now that I hear they don't do that anymore I'm glad I had the opportunity. Don't even care if anyone else on the tour thought it was weird I took my shoes off. I wanted to feel the field that the earthquake game happened at, where Billy Cannon shot down the east sideline and just tons of other great LSU moments.

I've done all except the ops building. I'm sure it isn't there now but there was a photo of Les Miles sitting in front of Matt Flynn when they announced the National Championship selection in 2007. The look on both of their faces is absolutely priceless.

it has been 16 years since I have been to Baton Rouge.
BR has turned into a filthy s-hole since Katrina, but the area around LSU hasn't changed that much. (Except for more apartment complexes and the Lauberge Casino Complex, which is a few miles off campus)
Me and Mrs. Semjase mistakenly moved back in 2014 and are on the way out finally, having decided to move to the NE side of Atlanta/Athens area. (We don't make life decisions on LSU Sports any longer since there is so much dysfunction in the LSUAD and the Tiger Stadium/Death Valley atmosphere is not anywhere near what it used to be)
Been there, done that. Can take it or leave it.
Just glad I was there when it was a special place.

Yep, GREAT TIME. I set one up for my lil brothers bachelor party. They did a great job, all free. Got to see locker room, meeting rooms, awards rooms (w/ NFL helmets and all LSU players drafted by that team), run out to field after hitting “Win!” bar, and tossed the pigskin around on the field, as well as some poorly attempted FGA.

Went with my daughter on a field trip last year. It was awesome

Must've been back in the days when they had practice on the acutal field huh? I know the Ops building was built like right after Saban left. I know he was huge in pushing for dedicated facilities like that for football.

I've done it also, and it's pretty cool.
Walkons is nearby and of course Chimes on the other side of campus.

It must have been a special practice. Although the football wasn’t opened til after Saban left, they practiced on the practice fields and indoor facility since 01-02 ish

An excellent tour, really interesting to see how “big” the old locker room was/is compared to the new one, and that they still pile those kids into the old locker room during half time

So, I know there is a form online one can fill out requesting a tour, but can just any old alum or fan get approved for one or does one have to be special (TAF, L Club, etc)?

We took the tour yesterday. Watched a football hype video first. Then we moved into the room where they have the NFL helmets and players listed for each team. As well as hand painted pictures of all the all americans. Then we moved into the room where they have the NC trophies. Next was the locker room and press area. Finally we went onto the field after hitting the win bar. Did not get to go on the field. If they had charged for it, I might have been disappointed. There is probably a lot more to the stadium that they could show. I wouldn't have minded seeing how crappy the visitor locker rooms are. But, for free, pretty awesome.
