Food critic on Raising Cane's: 'These are the best fast food chicken fingers out there'

Advocate
Looking for the best fast food chicken fingers that aren't dry and boring?
The answer may be right under your nose, according to a food critic with The Takeout.
Dennis Lee, a writer for the Gizmodo Media Group's food blog, recounted his first magical encounter with Raising Cane's "drippingly juicy" chicken fingers in 2016 during a trip to Las Vegas in a recent post.
Lee breaks down the appeal of Cane's chicken fingers, noting how its salty brining leaves eaters wanting another bite immediately and how its flavor lies in the chicken itself rather than its breading.
He also has high praise for the simplicity of Cane's menu, and how "Cane's Sauce" is the figurative icing on the cake that is a Box Combo.
"I'm going to say it right now: These are the best fast food chicken fingers out there," Lee says.
Lee's review makes it clear he's been hooked on Cane's chicken since that first encounter, and it's safe to say many in Louisiana (and any other state blessed to have a Raising Cane's) can relate to his enduring love for the franchise.
"When it comes down to it, yes, they're just chicken fingers. But dammit, I had them for lunch today and I'm craving more," Lee says.

The Advocate with their finger on the pulse of the Baton Rouge culinary scene. It's such a joke.

That poor Pelican House owner guy just got triggered like a mofo.

To be fair, the guy who wrote the review isn't an Advocate writer nor is he from Baton Rouge.
The Advocate just picked it up.

Oh I know. The Advocate highlighting it is stupid. I realize Cane's originated here, but they are located across the USA now. It's not a highlight of a local restaurant.

Canes has gone so downhill it's really not even funny.

I haven't touched Canes since leaving school...makes me feel hungover just smelling others eating it

Not true..Their prices have went up, up, uphill!

I use to 100% favor Cane's over Zaxby's. Zaxby's has quickly closed the gap though, for me. Their Cajun grilled chicken sandwich is legit AF. I use to have to make a Cane's trip anytime I went back home, no longer the case.

Because Todd Graves can afford to buy new hot water heaters.

I had chicken strips (fingers) from Popeyes a few weeks ago and, holy hell, they were bad. Dry and flavorless. So, if they are all like that then Cane's is definitely the best.

And their fingers have gotten smaller and smaller.

Dripping with MSG, but I still eat there.

This is what they advertise that their 3 finger box looks like... overflowing with juicy chicken tenders.
Then reality takes over when you open the box.

none.
Never understood eating those things from anywhere.

It has, but it is still one of the best fast food restaurants in the country. We are spoiled because we know what Canes used to be like, but places that are just now getting a Canes absolutely love that shite. They have gone "downhill", but that is just what comes with a small chicken place growing into a national chain.
As a side note: If you haven't seen the river center at night in a while, the new Raising Canes signage on it looks awesome. Haven't been inside in a while, but hopefully the interior renovations will look awesome too. I'm happy to see that a BR start-up has turned into a large corporation getting national recognition.

best in what sense?
Asking, not being challenging.
I admit I have a strong bias. I can think of 20 fast food meals I'd have before Canes because I don't much like chicken fingers.

I think a lot of people are just envious of their success.
