Lifetime License Question

If you bring all of the paperwork and required documents to Baton Rouge, will they issue your lifetime license the same day? Or do you still have to wait the 3 weeks that it says on the application?

It’s like $1,000 for lifetime hunting and freshwater fishing.
For hunting, freshwater and saltwater fishing, it’s like $1,500

You’ll get a temporary print out and they mail you the actual card. They told me mine was going to take two weeks but it actually was only like 4 days.
The print out will serve as proof of your license if checked.

What does the lifetime license cover? Is it just basic hunting and fisnhinf and you have to pay for all the special additions?
Example: if you have a lifetime license, how much extra every year do you have to pay for waterfowl hunting?

Only have to buy federal duck stamp

Covers everything except the federal duck stamp and recreational fishing gear licenses.

This. I would for sure recommend going to BR because you need to give the birth certificate and if you mail it in, they dont mail it back.

I drove to BR, in and out in 15 minutes. It was a much better process then I had anticipated.

WHat the hell is a recreational fishing gear license?
Posted on 1/15/18 at 9:11 pm to WPsportsman
I assume recreational traps and nets?

Licenses for trawls, hoop nets, traps, cans/buckets (whatever the shite that is), etc.

“Cans/buckets”. We take Freon bottles. Drill small holes in bottom and two inch or so hole in side. Set out now. When spring rolls around catfish will start spawning in them. No bait, catfish swim in and out. When I want to fry catfish go check them. Lots of times there will be two per bottle.

I don't understand how you catch anything worth cooking with a 2" hole for them to swim through. What am I missing here?
Posted on 1/15/18 at 9:24 pm to Hankg
Gotcha. Kind of strange that you need a permit for that.

Combo covers absolutely everything except federal duck stamp. Basic hunting, big game, turkey, duck, wma permits, freshwater and saltwater fishing.

Wildlife and fisheries office off perkins behind Penington.

Holes are cut with torch so irregular. Probably closer to 3 in. Most are about foot long catfish. Perfect frying size. Sometimes it’s hard to get them out and hard to understand how they squeezed into the hole. If you cut the holes too big you miss a bunch from them swimming out before you pull the bottle up.

What all has to be brought in to purchase a lifetime license? Yeah...feeling to lazy to look it up
