Canada and Orgeron : The story

This seems to be a heated discussion on this board, so once again, allow me to attempt to shed some light on the subject.
It was revealed after Troy that orgeron made the offense run a simplified version of what we ran vs State. This is true.
Canada submitted a complaint to Alleva, and the meeting took place behind closed doors. It involved, to my knowledge, Canada, O, Aranda , and Esnminger (likely to help Orgeron make his case a little better).
Normally it is bad practice to go above your bosses head and talk to his boss, but in this case it may have been justified.
In the meeting, Alleva was very clear. When Orgeron got involved in offensive affairs, we lost the worst game in years. Orgeron was told to give the keys to Canada and let him gameplan for the coming games.
Canada did not have the ability to change up the depth chart. Orgeron maintained strict control over that part of the offensive process.
The Florida Game: This is what I will call the "turning point" in their relationship. We had been doing extremely well going up 17-3. During the game , in the booth, canada called for Brennan. Not because Etling was playing bad, but because he wanted run a different set of plays that he believed would help extend the lead.
Orgeron denied this request and my source in the booth thay day says Canada slammed his fist on the table and yelled an obscenity.. Orgeron took advantage of the outburst and basically made Canada sit in a "time out".
Canada still called plays, but they were often changed last second by O and sometimes overridden completely. We would not score another point. Canada said multiple times that Florida had adjusted perfectly and the current state of things wasnt going to allow us to score.
Aranda even dropped a "my defense is getting tired coach, we have to do something different."
We didnt, and won by a missed XP.
Canada has a short fuse. This is true on every level. Likely why his relationships with schools end rather quickly. But the man is an offensive genius. If he had his way, the florida game likely wouldnt have been close.
But that is neither here nor there. What stands is that him being let go was almost assured that day.
To further point this out, the same problem was presented vs alabama. If you found it odd that Brennan went in with 2 or so minutes left, your feeling is justified. That was a public "frick you" to Canada, who was calling for Brennan all game.
Canada didnt hate Etling. He just felt he had limited abilities. He also vouched for a two QB system. Etling for deep balls and runs, Brennan for short throws and middle routes.
These were continuously denied.
I hope this helps.

I have heard this mentioned previously off the board. Seeing it confirmed is pretty depressing.

Orgeron is operating like he has been coaching this team for 10 years.

if it goes really bad the experiment will end after 2018. alleva will be gone too. not the worst thing in the world.

as others have said he's operating like miles sans the hardware/tenure.

Please tell me Brennan is a better deep ball thrower than Etling.

But who, specifically, pulls the trigger on such a decision? I'd like to know that so that person can't simply hide behind a rock and collect a paycheck.

He doesnt have the arm strength of Etling. But this is easily fixable. Hes a small guy. Give him time to beef up.

Considering Alleva's job is tied to Orgeron, and the promises Orgeron made when getting it, "arrogance" doesn't seem like a strong enough word.

Funny thing is that Orgeron apologists were on this board suggesting that was some 4D Chess move by Orgeron simply trying something new. When called out by everyone else how utterly stupid and useless it was, they just doubled down.
The fact that it may have been a vindictive move seems even more plausible, since it made no sense at all within the flow of the game.

With all the unknowns and possibilities, I knew it was bad.... but not this bad.
We are sooooo screwed.
Thanks

4D chess?
Putting an inexperienced QB in while down on the road to Bama with hardly any time left was suicidal.
