You can't have a gun on you on your own property? Is this even America?
From what I recall of the law, it is perfectly legal for somebody to have a firearm on their person on their own property. Having it tucked in their pants-belt is fine, too, on your own property.
La. is an Open Carry Law state. As such, it would be legal for the gentleman to have a holstered pistol on his person while walking around OFF OF his own property.
So, unless the BIL pointed the pistol at the young man, I fail to see a crime here. Maybe I'm missing something.
But is is reasonable to conclude that BIL's intent was to intimidate the boyfriend. If the boyfriend was 16 years old, I agree with the majority that this is a "dick move."
But, what if the boyfriend is 22 years old hooking up with some Uber-Sweet Sixteen Teenage Queen? BIL still a dick for having the Glock in his belt?
