No

We didn't defeat the committed nation of North Vietnam. We are not winning in Afghanistan My opinion is that we really didn't win in Iraq and those are three pissant nations.

What would ever make us think we would defeat Russia and China if we can't win in Afghanistan. We are currently in the process of allowing N Korea to obtain nuclear weapons and a delivery system.

We are a well armed paper tiger with a press and one or two political parties who would never participate in such a thing and a population who would never walk away from their cell phones, facebook, instagram and Tigerdroppings long enough to fight a global war and then devote our future to serving as an army of occupation.

We can't even occupy and control the suburbs of St. Louis or Los Angeles. We don't even want to get into our ability to control the criminal element of New Orleans.

You’d really need a mindset of the Romans, or the Mongols, or even the Nazis with competent leadership, in order to achieve such a thing even nominally. Offer enough incentive and you could get volunteers from places you took over. Colonial armies

If the US was trying to conquer the world, it wouldn't care about civilian casualties.

The current US nuclear weapon arsenal could take out an area the size of Alaska + Texas with 3rd degree burns, plenty enough for the top 100 cities in the world.

It would come down to issues occupying the area. Manpower would be the biggest concern.
