Steele's tenure as head coach at Baylor will probably keep him from landing any real desirable head coaching jobs. It was really bad, including the infamous loss to UNLV in his first game trying to get a late score rather than taking a knee. He'd probably have to take a lower level head coaching job, and succeed, before getting a chance at a big job.

Got to love checking in on a post, with a UT alums opinion on who he would prefer to be UTs next coach, to see 6 down votes from fans of other schools. Ha! Classic tRant.
Steele is a UT guy. I dont care about a mistake he made yrs ago at Baylor. To me I see HC experience as a plus. I don't care about getting fired by Clemson for getting spanked by wvu. IF, and I mean IF, we need to go the coordinator ranks Steele should be on the top of the list. And i'll repeat...IF...he has a good game against bama this coming wknd.
Obviously his HC plan, etc should be vetted to make sure it's reasonable which is on the currie to decide in an interview.
PS - Tee Martins wife would be a hard sell getting him to knoxville
PSS - IF Gruden were hired - A Steele-Cooter combo would be nice, and good chance...
PSSS - UT is spending money this go around, so coordinators will be a big part of the final judgement no matter the HC hire.
