I thought the perception of female lawyers were bitches with a huge chip on their shoulder and possibly wearing a jock strap.

Having witnessed how it develops, they kind of have to be

If you're in a small town or something, you'll probably get steamrolled by your male counterparts and asked to plan parties and fill in for secretarial work

If you're in big law, you work your arse off, probably don't say "no" when people dump projects on you, and get abused by 40-50 year old female paralegals and other staff.

Make no mistake, plenty of young female attorneys come into it with a fabricated chip on their shoulder and they're just basically bad people. But it's a hard profession for men (especially in big law), for women it can just turn your soul black.

which is why so many drop out after 5 years to have babies, or turn those judicial clerkships into permanent clerkships. Then run for judge in BR.

Big law

Always seemed kind of like Walmart to me. There's a bunch of people there but you always have to ask somebody else in another department. Hence big law really equals big bill.
