I saw a stat saying RoLo was making the Bulls 40 points better looking at the On/Off splits. That's the kind of tank killing solid play Chicago doesn't need this year.
Exactly and they are supposedly hot and heavy to trade for Jah and give him all the minutes with Markkanen. This gives them additional assets to get Jah.

Would you really want to give up a first, a second, and Diallo for players that would average around 10 mpg?

It seems pretty easy to make it a 3 team deal.
Chicago - Okafor/Asik/Pels 1st
Philly - Ajinca/Diallo/Chi 2nds
NOLA - Lopez/Portis

What's gross about it? Asik/Ajinca/1st for some useful player making similar or less money is going to happen if they can make it happen. AD/DC can't keep playing all of these minutes and a 3rd big like RoLo would let them get some decent rest. The main thing I don't like about RoLo is you probably can't afford to keep him next year and I don't know how easy it will be to dump him with the way the center market has gone to hell.

whats gross is giving up yet another first round pick and not adding a wing presence

The Pels don't have the assets to pull that off. It does suck painting yourself into a corner.

That's the risk, though it gives you options. Basically if it works well, maybe the Bensons are willing to pay tax the one year left on Rolo's deal. If it doesn't work and Boogie leaves, then you still have a productive C to pair with AD.
The problem is we really need wing help now and at some point in the future in order to keep this house of cards standing we are going to need to actually use, keep, and develop a 1st of our own.
I greatly prefer just trying to trade for Portis with Cheick, 2nds, cash and keeping the 1st or using it to upgrade the wing/shooting.

Why not get the big man that will allow AD and Boogie to play more minutes together? Asik and Ajinca are less than useless right now. A guy like Lopez would help the team so much. So would a guy like Monroe.

They need a big this year who can contribute minutes and not be horrible. I would prefer to get Portis alone who can carry some offense and is cost controlled. Combine him with Anjica or pray Dell gets saved again with a Monroe buyout.

The Malcom Brogden's of the world are pretty rare. Adding a Swaggy P/CJ Miles in FA next year with the MLE because you created cap space will help keep AD/DC together much more than drafting a 19 year old SF prospect.
On the plus side Frank Jackson's college highlights make him look like a fantastic fit for this team and Charles Cooke looks like he has the body and confidence to play in the NBA now. They don't need to find a superstar wing, just some competent and cheap 3 and D guards and wings. Graduate Charles Cooke from a 2 way next year and then give a 2 way to the next James Ennis.
The Pels basically have run up a bunch of debt on the credit card. Until they pay it off they can't really invest in their 401k.

just depressing that we could have, Giannis, Sam Dekker, Bobby Portis (who we're f'ing talking about trading for) Douggie McBaskets, etc...

First in case there's a misunderstanding that was just an example, I really meant MLE level shooting SFs. I just haven't researched next year's class yet to have names.
All reports are that Nick Young was coming to the Pels and then the Pels backed out. The Warriors said they thought that he was coming here. I have 2 theories on what happened. Demps had a deal to dump Asik that fell through making Young too expensive. My guess is he had an Asik for deal for Lin set up and then Toronto came with their deal to dump Carroll and seriously outbid the Pels for Brooklyn's cap space. Theory 2 is a comment MM recently made on Twitter that Gentry wanted Swaggy and Demps wanted Rondo. It seems crazy that Gentry would be ok with Jrue as the main ball handler based on what we've seen, but if this 2nd one is true then I guess the chain of events would be they were about to close on Swaggy when they got word that Rondo was interested.

Would do that in a heartbeat, and I am someone that has consistently said spend your money on the 2 and 3 position, not bigs outside of AD/Cousins.
I've always like Rolo, and I think he'd play great with either AD or Cousins on the court, instead of taking both off the court.
Rolo only has 2 years left anyway, and anytime you get a guy that makes a million to actually give you quality minutes, it's a win, with Portis.
i'd gladly give up the 21st pick in this coming draft for Rolo/Portis and getting rid of Asik/Ajinca.
Seriously, what is wrong with that?
