WR issues happen when you hire a bad WR coach because he can recruit

The development at WR, or lack thereof, could likely be at the hands of a bad WR coach hired more because of his name and that he can recruit than any illegitimate success atz coaching the position in question.
It’s not a secret and shows where this team will struggle to develop the position if things remain the same. You aren’t seeing development or improvement at he position as the season goes on, so the excuse of youth isn’t valid. Every other aspect of the team is improving at least a little outside of WR.
That is an issue.

Idk
Sometimes it's the WR
Sometimes it's the OL
And just as often it's Etling.
Chark we'll get separation on deep routes and Etling literally can't hit him in stride.

I disagree. Chark and Gage have looked pretty great the past few weeks. WRs in this offense are asked to do more than just run routes.

If etling didn't have a noodle arm chark would've scored on the deep ball that was PI because he had to stop for how terribly under thrown it was

How was his throw to Sullivan?

Problem is only those two can catch, and Gage has a couple of easy drops.
If LSU loses one of those two for any reason, we're fricked.
Lots of former LSU WR talent playing elsewhere and being productive.

Where were you last week with this complaint? Gameplans change.

Chark was developed last year and proved himself there. Outside of one great catch, Gage has done nothing unless you are counting jetsweeps. Gage has had no catches yesterday, none vs UF, and 3vs Auburn for 28 yards. That’s not great by any means.

This means nothing. Outside of Chark, WRs have been mediocre to bad if not down right awful against teams worth a damn.
Yes Rtling has been inconsistent and I think he’s honestly equivalent to the bad QBs we have had the last decade but WRs running jetsweeps and run blocking shouldn’t eliminate coaching them to be pass catchers.
Joseph is just a bad WR coach and that is on O. He cares about recruiting over substance which was the same mistake Miles made much of the time and the offense will continue to struggle.

Great play by the DB but it was a good throw, was only about 20 yards however

young guys take time to develop. our young db's are getting better. our wr's don't get the in game throws experience as opposed to the db's getting thrown against. have some patience.
the offense is a work in progress.

Are you forgetting that Jerry Sullivan is also there? He is a legendary WR coach.

Isn’t he a consultant meaning he can’t interact with the players?

Yes I am, that is a big part of the offense. And one of his 3 catches against auburn was an amazing TD. Those guys have done well with blocks on designed plays to the backs and TEs. As I said, WR "development" is more than just catching balls. I'm not sure what criteria you are using. We have had some bad drops, but the WRs have nevertheless had a big impact on our recent success.

How did I know where this post was headed. Coach O , wow. Co,e on man how about the receivers were recruited by Miles as was Quarterback.
Posted on 10/22/17 at 9:48 am to SammyTiger
Receivers need to help qb out on routes...come back to qb to break open
Posted on 10/22/17 at 9:51 am to EXPLAYER
My two cents is the receivers that MILES recruited were not coached up until this year. See Trey Quinn as example. Also how about Dupree, go check history he was a lot better after O took over team last year.

I don't know what you've been reading, but those "consultants" and other shadow staff have tons of interaction and coaching time with players.
