A 7-1 SEC record will be enough proof that we righted the ship and a strong showing against UGA in the SEC championship (which would give us 3 top 10 wins and maybe 2. Top 5's) will get us in the playoff
You don't understand how it works... They will nOT leave A one loss conference champ out of the playoff........... If they have 4 conference champs with only one loss they will go in before A TWO loss LSU.............
AND as sad as it may seem,, A ONE loss Bama could go before A two loss LSU SEC Champ....
It would be stupid but could happen............

We'd need help..Auburn catches Bama in the Iron Bowl. We have momentum and if the offense pulls their shite together we look appealing as a comeback story it adds a playoff story of redemption.

You’re definitely wrong man.
LSU will need serious help to get in no matter what.
They will not leave a 1 loss Bama our.

If LSU beats bama, that also doesn't mean they're the better team.

If that happens, does Georgia or Bama get in? I say Bama still in as #2 or 3. LSU as #4

quote:Hypothetically, if Georgia made it to the SEC Championship game undefeated and lost to LSU, they'd probably take a one loss Georgia over a one loss Bama. The big difference being Georgia's impressive road win over a highly ranked Notre Dame, and Georgia finishing the regular season with no losses.
They will not leave a 1 loss Bama out.

OP is proposing a scenario that they admit is highly improbable, but is wondering about the implications if it does, which is completely reasonable to ask. Despite this, they get ridiculed by brilliant ranters who feel the need to display their intelligence and knowledge of the game by pointing out that the scenario is highly improbable. smh
Long story short, you're saying win out. Brilliant! However, we can easily lose three more games.

Shea Patterson is not a Louisiana native for crying out loud. The kid spent two years in Shreveport. Get your facts straight.

Actually, fivethirtyeight.com has us at a 2% chance of winning out. NCAA Football Predictions
If we do win out, they consider us THE MOST LIKELY playoff participant at followed by Penn State, Wisconsin and Alabama.
I agree that the committee would probably go against that and force all 1-loss power five champs in before LSU. But, it appears that the Pac12 may not have a worthy champ - if it's Washington, their non-conference schedule is crap. Maybe the Big XII's only chance is TCU, will they lose in the championship game?
Regardless, if we fulfill the TWO PERCENT chance of winning out, I think we are a very strong candidate for the playoff.
Let's just go beat Ala-dadgum-bama.

There's no chance LSU makes the playoffs, following the loss to Troy
Posted on 10/22/17 at 8:27 am to THECEO
What if lsu played troy in national title game since we are wishing for the impossible
Posted on 10/22/17 at 8:40 am to tarzana
Everyone keeps bringing up Penn St 2016 by means of comparison. Their loss to Pitt is frankly better than our loss to Troy.
However, the key difference is that we would play top-3 Georgia in the sec championship while Penn St played a team that was less highly regarded in Wisconsin.
Would it be enough to put 2-loss LSU in?
Stupid Troy illegal field goal before halftime.

Hate to burst your bubble but realistically our ceiling is a 9-3 season (would love otherwise but I've learned to rein in my expectations.) In which case the goal this season is to finish strong and give something potential recruits can get excited about. Finish hot and set up success for next year
