Back in my day, the band was for the losers, and no one paid much mind to what they were up to

You should leave now...before this gets worse for you.

I was in TGBFTL that year. We were even featured on SC’s top 10, I believe. It was great.

As for the OP, go frick yourself!

I've never heard anyone say anything remotely like the band was for losers. Love the band. I always won

I can’t say for sure it never happened. But keep in mind, by the time the season starts, they’ve already spent many days out in the sun from 9am until late evening. They don’t go into the IFF until the night cession because the football team uses it during the day.

It’s been a long time for me, but I still remember it being miserably hot out there. Camel packs were my saving grace.

It’s probably changed a tad over the years, but it’s quite a bit.

Back in my day 99-02 it went a bit like this:

Preseason camp -
Sunday - Saturday (week before classes start)
9am - 11pm or so ...usually more “or so” than “11”.

During the season -
Tues - Friday 3:30-5;10 or so...again, often more “or so”
We did occasionally get a Friday off if there wasn’t a home game and members leaving for the pep band had to leave that night.

Saturday rehearsal depended on game time. For a late kickoff, rehearsal was 11-1. We were always the first in and last out of the stadium, before marching back. Saturday’s were LOOOOONG. The solution was the afterparty.

You are damned right they practice their azzes off.....we live in the Dales and can hear them practicing all the time in the distance. The piped in music is awful... a little is OK, but not ALL THE TIME.
