Why is there such an increase in 18 wheeler crashes? Texting? Do those dumbasses need more training and restrictions?? frick... seems like every other day these clowns shut down I-10.

the truckers on this board will blame the car drivers. I travel the basin bridge daily. Its both that are at fault. The trucks go too fast on the basin bridge and many ignore the lane restrictions. The cars are speeding, texting, and cutting in front of the trucks and tailgating.

Inexperience. There is a huge shortage of drivers and a growing inventory of long haul loads. Companies like Swift, JB Hunt, Werner, TMC, and Trans Am throw these guys out there to the wolves with sometimes as little as 2 weeks training.

Go into a Pilot, Loves, or Flying J and see for yourself. Watch these guys try to back into a parking spot. If I see one of these company trucks, I stay far far away.

No they don't need more restrictions. That's partially what's causing this. I'd be willing to put $100 bill on it that this truck was running electronic logs.
