This is the result of hiring someone on what they promise, not what they have done

"The Binder" has become a punchline on here, but the sad reality is that's why Orgeron is here today. He sat in the office and sold Alleva a bill of goods. He painted a picture of "stealing" away Kiffen from Saban and bringing along Tua Tagovailoa with him. He spoke of landing a whole bus load of 5* kids, and the top ranked BR kids he would keep home. And he name dropped other assistants he would have here in a flash if he got the job.

Fast forward 8 months and almost done of what he promised has actually happened yet. Maybe he turns the corner this week and beyond, and in a few years we all look back and laugh at this bumpy start. But the real culprit here is, as usual, Alleva. I don't blame Oregon or Ponamsky, or whoever else for stumping for the job and selling themselves. That's what they should do. But a competent AD should be able to see through that and hire based on verifiable facts, not pipe dreams

Well he kept Aranda and got a coveted OC. And he hadn't had much time to recruit. He's only had 1 class as recruiting cord and 1 as HC and it wasn't even permanent until 2 mo before recruits even knew he would get the job. However what we saw discipline wise and certain decisions after the coordinators come into ? For sure. O's 2nd shot as a HC shouldn't have been Lsu (see kiffen) but alleva did it so he deserves a fair shot.

I'm surprised "The Binder" punchline has stayed pretty much as an exclusive punchline within our fanbase.

Don't be ridiculous. The binder was just what got his foot in the door. It was the gumbo recipe that closed the deal.

I frequently hire people based upon promise ...almost always turns out to be the right decision. Good managers understand potential and are not blinded by experience.

Bitch, he's done everything he has promised. There is no guarantee.

That's the problem with getting rid of a proven winner. Multiple SEC titles National Chsmps coach with most wins ever at LSU and it was never good enough

It's the result of LSU waiting too long to fire Miles. Come on let's be honest for a change.

What's really scary is I think you truly believe what you posted in the OP.

This is a football forum and not a political one so stop posting about selling us a bill of goods like Trump.

This is the result of hiring someone you know a section of the fanbase will support no matter what instead of trying to actually do something good for the team.
