With all the "rules stacked for offense" in the NFL, why do the offenses suck so bad?

QB and OLine play is terrible due to spread offenses on every level and the lack of practices in the offseason

Because the talent is at its lowest point in decades.

-Players practice less at every level.
-Players leave college before they are ready.
-Coaches turnover faster than ever in both the NFL and college.

O-Lines are bad, and there are only like 5 QBs in the league that can adequately deal with crap O-Lines.

The lack of practices are killing the offenses.

I think the fast clock is affecting points scored.

Not enough good OLinemen to deal with the fast DL.

20 teams too many.

There are 8 or ten really good qbs.

If you had an 8 team league with 60 guys, you would see great football, every game. Very good qbs, every team with a very good rb and a very good wr.
If you had 16 team league with 55 guys you would have some great games every sunday.

Touch the QB in the head....first down.
Fall and touch his legs, first down.
Get a finger caught in a route runner's jersey, first down.
Gets handsy down field, first down.
Touch an OL's face, first down.

Yet these bums still suck arse.

Welcome to the NFL.

How long has it been since we had a really good pro style QB dominate in the college game? The last one I can think of is Andrew Luck or maybe Jameis Winston. Most of the QBs coming into the league are spread guys who, as one poster above pointed out, have never been in a huddle in their life. Some spread QBs have the smarts to adjust to the change (like Dak Prescott), but most do not.

So when you have fewer QBs coming into the league who can actually read defenses, the quality of QB play drops dramatically. The drop in offensive production over the past couple of years has almost nothing to do with elite defense and almost everything to do with lack of good QB play.
