Actual attendance?

I searched and saw nothing. I stayed until the final whistle and I guess I missed the announcement. To me, it looked like less than 90,000. Paid attendance is obviously higher but it wasn't a sellout and that's a lot of concession $ not being made. Chattanooga is no different than McNeese etc. We can keep the money in state and make more at the gate staying tgat way. I just don't get scheduling these shite games with out of state cupcakes.

Well them running out of almost everything in the second quarter is probably a bigger reason why they didn't make as much money in the concession.

Never saw a home game, especially the first home game of the years, with so low an attendance.
Not sure if it was weather related or not.

Don't think the weather could have been any better.

I saw on twitter the final count was around 97,000

It's very rare for actual attendance to be above 90k before the stadium expansion. Actual is always lower than paid. 60-70k actual would be very generous estimate.

I meant from the out of state fans, particularly in the Houston area. I'd guess a lot them are recovering from Harvey.

We've only had an actual attendance above 90,000 around 8 times in history.

Well I think a number of factors have caught up with the business of college football. The cost of going to games is outrageous. You can't get on campus without paying a fee. You can't park without paying a fee. Most of the tickets are priced out of reach for many families. The logistics of getting home after a game is a nightmare. This on top of the Les Miles era where LSU football became irrelevant on the national stage.
If your sitting anywhere but the fist 20 rows on the stadium- you see the game better on a high definition TV.
Maybe with the new coaching staff the excitement will return to LSU football and people will make Saturday nights more of a priority. I just don't see this stadium being packed 90k+ very often in the future.

About 50 in the 4th quarter

They do have bottomless popcorn, and a free drink refill now. That is nice.

Win and win big then the stadium will be packed. Winning cures all when it comes to the business of sports.

For the opponent it was a good atmosphere

They still have it but they were out of popcorn at half time. Guess it wasn't totally bottomless.

At best, West Upper was at 50% and West LOwer at 60%. IT amazes me how many empty seats were NEVER filled last night in those two areas.
I would guess we had about 65K to 68K actual attendance last night.

I didn't even think it was 8, at least pre-south end zone expansion

Even not considering Harvey, is it really worth the effort to drive 4+ hours each way, basically committing the entire weekend to LSU not having time for much of anything else? Also if you don't have any friends or family in the area to crash at, there's 1 or 2 nights of hotel too. I am not willing to invest that amount of money into seeing LSU playing Chattanooga. I will just eat the tickets or transfer/donate them to someone.

Now that the Stadium holds over 100,000, pretty every non-big SEC game is going to be attended like that.

Probably would have had more butts in the seats if people didn't have to leave at halftime to walk back to Gonzales to get to their car and then wait an hour to get out of the parking lot so they could be stuck in traffic for another hour. Good times. It's only going to get worse!
