I pretty much agree. Outside of a legal system that is far harsher on minorities. That doesn't make the argument in the OP any less absurd.

What did you do today to alleviate their oppression? What about yesterday?
You don't care about this either. It's like I don't really care about abortions.

I did absolutely nothing and I don't care much about it at all. I care more about pointing out bad arguments. They have a tendency to get repeated by sheeple like Zach and can cause real damage if left unchecked

fricking A. Nice. I love honesty.
I'll read more of your posts now instead of just blindly downvoting you and moving on.

I didn't say it was. The evidence that there is no oppression in America is that there is none. You can't see it. It doesn't exist. There is only inequality that does not stem from oppression. Now, if you'd like to give me an example of oppression in America I'll entertain it.

Pretty sure this is for poor people in general. The system highly favors those of means.

Truth doesn't cause damage. What Horowitz said was the truth and your arguments against him thus far are pathetic and have been totally rebutted. You're getting your arse handed to you and you don't even realize it.

I'm not baiting anything. I asked you a simple question. Where is their oppression in the US? You can't answer it. You mentioned harsher sentences for blacks convicted of crimes. That's not oppression. Harsher sentences only impact people who choose a vocation of crime. If you choose to be a criminal then you might get a harsh sentence. If you are a black person who chooses not to commit crime then it has no effect on you at all.

Everyone? So you are saying Castro and his family are poor? Poorer than before they took over Cuba?

Well, Horowitz is wrong. His argument is a fallacy. It's nonsense to say that there is no oppression here as evidenced by people trying to enter the country illegally. They may be more oppressed in their native country and the lesser of two evils is preferable.
What class of people is being systemically oppressed in this country, and why?
I would argue that our welfare system is the closest thing we have to oppression in our country. I think there would be a whole lot less talk of oppression if we didn't have the generational welfare problem that keeps families in poverty for generations.

OK. Name a country in the world where more people are willing to leave their home and risk their lives to enter the country illegally, than the US.
By your definition, if people are going to flow to the country where they are less oppressed, the US must be the least oppressive country in the world.
Are there injustices? Certainly. But injustice isn't the same as oppression. Tell me where there is oppression in the US?

Irrelevant. Oppression is just one of a thousand reasons someone may immigrate to another country.

The low hanging fruit is probably poor mostly black neighborhoods. Police state is a tool for oppression

If by oppressed, you mean placated and given just enough to keep them fat and destitute, youd be right.
