Agreed 1000%

Hall of Very Good. No shame in that.

He has a minor case, but there are too many other receivers in front of him that are considered his contemporaries with better arguments waiting to get in.

however the same writers who vote for the HOF never voted him first or second-team all-pro his entire career
This is his problem. He was never viewed as a top 4 or so WR at any point in his career. He never led the league in TDs, receptions, or yards.
He's basically Hines Ward, a WR few people would consider HOF-worthy.
ETA: Hines Ward actually has 3 2nd team All-Pro honors from the AP, and he's not sniffing the HOF IMO.

None. If TO cannot make it (who was a better WR), no chance Boldin makes it
All that needs to be said.

Or Isaac Bruce

If he makes it to the HOF then they need to reevaluate their admission criteria
They just gonna let in anyone that was pretty good?
Lynn Swann is in the HOF. If there were ever a receiver not deserving of being in, it's him.
Swann:
336 Receptions
5462 Yards
51 TD
1 Ballerina Spin
Boldin:
1076 Receptions
13779 Yards
82 TD
1 Broken Face

Well, he did have 51 TDs to Boldin's 82 on a third of the catches.

Those eras were 30 years apart. It's not even close to apples to apples comparison for WRs or QBs. The NFL is such a passing league now. This is not a comment on Swann's worthiness (don't think he belongs either).

Who cares the NFL HOF is a joke

Well Swann was also 3x all-pro, 1970s all-decade team, and Super Bowl MVP. Nice set of hardware to distinguish yourself as an HOFer.

Swann also had to split production with another HOFer John Stallworth, had he been the sole no. 1 his numbers would've been much more gaudy than they are.

The bottom line on Boldin is that he was never, at any time, the best player at his position. Not even for one week of his career. He may not have ever been top three or top five at his position at any one given moment. If you can't dominate the discussion of your current position, you have no place being discussed among the greatest players of all time. Three Pro Bowls is enough for the NFL Hall of Fame these days? Give me a break.
And that all has *never* been a part of the HoF Criteria.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame is the most selective Hall of Fame in pro sports- about 1% of all players get in; Boldin is going to be one of those guys who would normally get in, but the PFHOF struggles with WR more than any other position.

They practically never induct WRs first-ballot with the exception of 5 so far, TO(I feel) shouldve been inducted first-ballot and I think Randy Moss should be inducted first-ballot. Moss, TO and Marvin Harrison are inarguably the greatest receivers of their era and should be honored as such. If Randy isn't inducted first-ballot next year, then there's something seriously wrong with voter selection bc there's no way one can justifiably reject him with all he's accomplished in his productive career: 4x first-team all-pro, all-decade, 2 NFL records, 2nd all-time in receiving TDs, top 5-6 in every other receiving career category, what else does he have to do to validate himself? Lol

If he gets in, Brandon Marshall should eventually get in.
