It's crazy to see small colleges do away with libraries as everything goes online and the need for a library for books becomes unnecessary. UTC's is just pretty much study space. Very little books left at all.

I wouldn't be in favor of that. Libraries are amazing places.

It's in an underground pressurized vault that human beings don't have access to. I don't think protesters can get to it. I am one of the few people who have been in that chamber! They have machines/robots who do everything in that vault

Though not aesthetically pleasing, the LSU Law library is supposed to have one of the most impressive collections in the country.

The LSU library system has a whole has some amazing stuff. I think it was ranked among the top 50 in the world, or at least that's what they told us when I worked there briefly.

Not only do they the most impressive libraries, most of the schools on the list have multiple libraries on the campus.

Homewood Field, the stuff of legends.

I'm a librarian at a graduate level institution. I should probably take some refresher courses, now. My patrons love and use Google for almost everything, until I show them the electronic resources (just a couple) that we subscribe to.

The book is not going anywhere as a medium of conferring information. The e-book has reached its saturation point, or has nearly reached it. They're not going anywhere, but they craze has reached a plateau, and many WANT print materials, still. My demand for print isn't wavering.

Just my impressions from my very small corner of the field.

We are, which is why RISE is involved on just about every project on or near campus.

However, Middleton has been on the chopping block for the last 2 master plans and I've only heard talk of renovating.

It's simply the buildings that house that "amazing stuff" are not worthy of the materials contained therein.

While I was there, they closed the little School of Library and Information Science Library in Coates and brought it all to Middleton :( That was a great place to work and study. Terrible decision.
