Single Point Urban Interchange is the best, but most states are too cheap to put them where needed.
I wanted to see one at Pecue Lane.

The one at dalrymple/lakeshore is pretty shitty design.. but it is more efficient than that old T intersection.
Traffic circles are ideal for T intersections like that with moderate/light traffic. They are much more efficient. There are a handful in Central now, and I think they are installing a few in Livingston Parish.
I would not put one where there is constant gridlock unless there is adequate space for a very large diameter circle. I also would not put them on major highways where highway traffic should take priority, such as US 61 or US 190.

So you mean 'rednecks' not 'louisianians' as a whole
They are letting out construction of 4 roundabouts in Livingston parish next year.
LA 1026 (Juban Road) at both I-12 Ramps, Buddy Ellis/Powell Rd, Forrest Delatte
Hopefully that goes well.

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball. Just learn how to merge and all is good.

Before it was removed, the North traffic circle in Alex was a riot. Very few had a clue
Oh it was bad, very bad. They need to get rid of the South Circle as well but every time it is brought up, some lame excuse stops it. Last time it was Caplan complaining that it would hurt his business and he is old money in town. He got some other people to support that claim and killed the last attempt to remove the circle.
Well a year after being instrumental in killing the last circle removing project he closes his business and moves everything downtown anyways. He knew he was going to do that but screwed everyone over and used his position to help his own sorry arse out over the rest of the people in town.
Before that attempt to remove it, the excuse was the wooded area was protected wetlands are some crap like that. Because of it's existence traffic is a PITA during peak hours and it is a source of wrecks and insurance fraud. On top of that, it is the prevailing reason why so many things depend on service/frontage roads here in town. But it is Alexandria, a town that is completely content in it's on mediocrity and will never change.

Great place to practice drifting.

Oh oh here's another one. How the frick do people not understand how on ramp pace lights work?!
if you're the first car to the light.... YOU DO NOT frickING STOP. As soon as you hit the beam, it will turn green.
If you self pace yourself 3-5 seconds after the car in front of you, YOU DO NOT STOP. The light will turn green AS YOU CROSS THE BEAM.
These pace lights have been up over a year and it never fails.

Roundabouts are awesome. That's all the have in the Netherlands. No stop signs, just roll right in a round about and keep flow of traffic moving. Americans drive like assholes so I see the problems they have here.

I hate those things with a passion and they are absolutely the most pointless things on the face of the earth. I have never stopped at one and I never will.
I rarely catch them because I do not travel during peak times but when I do I just blow through them.

Yeah about that you may want to know the regulations.

It is not just Louisianians. I almost got T-boned by a 18 wheeler in a Hammond a few months ago. People just can't comprehend the simple rules of a traffic circle. Traffic inside the circle always has the right of way and you cannot change lanes inside the circle.

I just love it when people inside the circle will stop to let others in. ??If you think that the circle is bad, how about the clover leaf at I-10&I-49 in Lafayette? If you want to see bad drivers, try that one.

If our citizens weren't so f'ing lazy we could build overpasses at high traffic intersectionS.

You guys can't even comprehend merging or the fact that there is something on the other side of a hill. You were never going to get traffic circles.
ive found that here in houston, merging is complicated. One car trying to merge will shut down the interstate.

I'm a professional driver, I don't need a Fisher-Price light to tell me when and how to murge.
