Mid-priced Hotels in London

GF and I planning a trip to London in November. I haven't been to London in about 20 years. Last time there stayed at the Sherlock Holmes Hotel on Baker Street, and found it to be a good value, but I wonder if anyone has other suggestions.
We, of course, want the impossible. Location, great accommodations and cheap.
Any recommendations.
TIA

It would probably help if you posted an actual price range. I would also point out that London Mid-range prices are not the same mid range prices as most cities.
I'd consider London "mid-priced" hotels as $250-400. I'm no London expert, but its pretty tough to find anything under $250 anywhere close to down town that is decent.
I had a lot of luck with Airbnb's, I don't know how comfortable you are with that but we stayed in what I'd consider an average London flat in the Bayswater/ North Hyde Park area this June for 4 nights for $800 total. It was a 1 bedroom/ 1 bonus room also. So you could find some smaller/ cheaper flats fairly easy.

What is mid-priced to you? What price range in dollar value? (This seems to be a common lack of detail on this board lately)

Mid-range is subjective but my wife and I stayed in the Hilton Green Park last October and averaged just under 200 GBP per night over 10 nights. Great location in Mayfair and is close to the Green Park tube station.

The $250 to $400 is the range we're looking for. I've stayed in the Bayswater area, and found that location to be great. We prefer a hotel over a bnb for this trip.

Good deal, I don't have any suggestions. But you should be able to find somewhere great for that. I'm sure someone on the board will.

Thanks, we'll check that one out.

Little secret: Pub accommodations have improved to an amazing quality. These are historical rooms above pubs, some with a separate side entrance, and most in London proper have been done up incredibly well. It's a great vibe, and my GF and I have been to many of them now since we go to London once every few weeks, and no noise problems.
Prices are usually under 300 GBP
I recommend:
The Bull and The Hide
The Fox and Anchor
The Hand and Flower
The Alma
The Grazing Goat

Theres a few hotels around Russell Square ive stayed in. Pretty cheap too, like $150 a night. Nothing great about it, clean enough tho. Best part about it is location for that price.

You may want to look at Expedia for the flight/hotel bundle deals if you haven't booked a flight already.

Not sure what area you really want, but I stayed in the Club Quarters Hotel directly next to St Paul's Cathedral for <$200/nt. It's easily walkable to a lot of sights and it was a great hotel.

I know you want hotel & not AirBnB, but here's another vote for an AirBnB over a hotel in London. An apartment rental is very price competitive, often in more interesting locations, and gives you lots more space than the average hotel room. My most recent stay was in Southwark, very near Borough Market..the neighborhood was great, full of pubs, restaurants, the huge market, steps from the south bank promenade with the Globe, Tate Modern, London Eye, etc just a short walk away. Southwark isn't loaded with hotels, so it's a great neighborhood full of real people, as opposed to just tourists. Apt w/full kitchen, king bed, murphy queen sized bed, full bath was just under $200/night for three people. Host provided a wonderful local guide to the area & was super easy to reach via WhatsApp.
I've just booked another AirBnB for Bayeux later this fall.

I haven't stayed in one yet, but several people have recommended Premier Inn to me as a quite decent chain hotel.
Whether it qualifies as "great accommodations" for you, I have no idea, but it can't hurt to look into it.
One big thing is that they have central air in the rooms!

On my last trip we stayed at a couple of places, but of those I'd recommend the Conrad.

Hotel indigo in kennsington (west london) awesome place great location the earls court station is only 2blocks away and that is a crossover for all the tube lines you can get to any line in the city in that station.
There's a pub on the corner and and the hotel has a very good breakfast. The rooms and baths are larger than most European hotels

I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Bayswater and was very pleased. Close access to two tube stations, usually no more than one transfer in the tube, Hyde Park right across the street, very reasonable price

Apex Temple Court on The Strand. I've stayed there a few times. It is pretty nice and you'll have plenty of beer money left over.

I really liked the London edition when I stayed there.

Nadler Soho.
About $279 per night. Cool boutique hotel in the middle of Soho.
And there's a Pret nearby for a cheap breakfast.
