Patriots did a better job of utilizing his talents than we did. Hopefully our rebuilt staff doesn't make the same mistakes. All the best to Ninkovich.

Granted there were some injury issues but the big problem was fitting him in to the defense and utilizing his talents. Just saying.

?
He only played one year here because he didn't fit well in our 4-3 scheme under Gibbs (so why did we draft him? Maybe special teams as he was a late round pick). Health wasn't really an issue (not saying he didn't get hurt, but he wasn't here long enough for it to be a pattern).
Miami had him two years and didn't know what to do with him either.
Hell his first year in NE he didn't do much of anything (one sack and 23 tackles). It took him until his 5th year before he really started doing anything. Can't blame anyone really when you have a 5th year bloomer.
And it's weird how starting his second year in NE his sack totals went on a "curve": 4, 6.5, 8, 8, 8, 6.5, and 4. And people speak about him like he was some huge presence that made an immediate impact in NE and we suck for letting him go when the truth is is took him 5 years to become a good role player (yes I know he technically was a starter but he rotated out a good bit) and now he's done after 7 good role player years.

I remember he hit Manning late in preseason in 2006.

He was among the league leaders for total defensive snaps for 3 years or so.

I know he missed like 4 games last year but he only played 44% of the snaps while playing 75% of the games.
2015 he played 81% of the snaps, so 4 out of 5 defensive snaps. While still good, that's nowhere near the league lead.
You are correct that in 2013 (95%) and 2014 (93%) he played a high count, but that's still not near the league lead and it's no coincidence that was 2 of his 3 eight sack years.
2012 he only played 83%, and again while a high count, it's still a good bit of rotation.
The site I'm using doesn't list before 2012, but in 2010 he only started 10 games. Last year was the first time he missed any games with the Pats outside of 1 game in 2009 (in which he started no games).
So the point still stands he was a role player. He played a lot of snaps most of his time but only had two years he played most of them.
And the point still stands that he wasn't some huge diamond the Pats stole from us because we were too stupid. The Pats barely used him his first year there and it took until his 5th year to start getting starts (10). And he didn't have dominant stats. He had good role players stats and that's what he was: a good role player.

This is a pretty arbitrary stat collection I'm gonna post but it's still impressive, I think you underrate Nink a lot and what he's done

There are only 4 players in the last 20 years with
46+ sacks 14+ FR 12+ FF & 5 INT
Jared Allen
Julius Peppers
Jason Taylor
Rob Ninkovich

True I was looking at his numbers and saw he has very high FF and FR numbers, and that is why that list is short.
But having high FF and FR numbers doesn't change the fact he was a high volume role player for most of his time there, or that he never achieved double digit sacks (yes sacks can be an arbitrary measurement but a benchmark nonetheless) unlike those other guys.
He had a set role and played it consistent and well. He wasn't a superstar that slipped from our grasp like people make him out to be.

See, it was a good decision to cut him.
He's a quitter.

Screw that dude, he always takes a shot at the Saints about releasing him instead of being a gent and being thankful the Patriots picked him up and he had a good career with them.

What's his numbers in the playoffs? I'm lazy and don't feel like looking them up.
I always remember being a beast in the playoffs

Can we sign him to a one day contract so he can retire a Saint?
