So, any of you ever use deer antler velvet spray for tendinitis?

I've been down since last September with my right elbow. Cortisone shots help with the pain, but the elbow has just gotten weak as hell. I even have trouble picking up a water bottle.
I was researching things other dudes have done to get over it and I saw some articles that talk up the deer antler velvet spray as being good for joints. True? False? Waste of money?
If there's a chance that it would help then I would try. Don't want to waste my time if it's bs. If anybody has any knowledge to share then it would be appreciated.

Have you had a MRI on the elbow to see exactly what's going on? If something is structurally wrong then no I don't think deer antler spray will have much effect.

No, my general Dr said that he's going to refer me to an Orthopedic Dr when this last shot wears off. I just don't want to have surgery if I can avoid it and I feel crappy not lifting for the last 11 months.

I have arthritis from an old break in my left elbow.
2 Aleve when it flares up.

Hahahaha. Stupid thing is I got this idea from someone trolling Bama fans in the strength and conditioning coach thread. Hell, if there's a chance it could work, and it's only a few hundred bucks compared to the physical cost of surgery, then why not?

Supposedly if you can fast a long time you can heal these ailments. By long time I mean couple weeks to a month. Longest I've done is like 4 or 5 days so I can't confirm lol. With that said, your body goes into ketosis while fasting, so maybe something to do with ketones helps repair the body.
I am putting two possibly completely unrelated thoughts together, no idea if a connection there, but maybe there is and you get a cheap fix

I took some and it relieved back pain for me. That being said prepare for the onslaught of people that will say it doesn't work

Do you just get it at GNC? How long did it take to start helping?

Geez. I found some really good sites loaded with info. A bottLe of this has between 3,000 to 5,000 nanograms of IGF-1. A 150lb man would need to consume 25 million nanograms daily to have the benefit of increased recovery from IGF-1. Back to the drawing board.

Equine MSM, take the dosage for a horse (there is a loading phase). DMSO Cream on flare ups.
I get this one
DMSO Cream
EDIT: No, I am not joking.

I'll be the first and say 'horseshite.' They're some supposedly healing peptides out there, BPC-157 and TB-500. I haven't done much research into them, some people swear by them.

I have used both. BPC157 is site specific and can work if injected as close to the injury site as possible and taken everyday. Has better feedback with muscle tears than anything elese. If you tear a muscle use both. As for joints, I would use the protocol I gave above and give BPC157 a try.

I've had tendinitis in one elbow or the other several times over the years. Are you doing any physical therapy or stretching routines to help the tendinitis?
My experience has been that unless I have a significant tear the PT and stretching has good results.

I have used both.

Hard to say because I used both for a major pectoral muscle tear last year and I did recover much much much faster than the previous three times (over 20 year span) and I am older. Once you tear a muscle the propensity to tear it again is greater and I am a testament to that. I never had it roll complelty off the bone, but it was nasty and hurt. So, to answer your question, i really feel like for the muscle tear the BPC injected right near the point of injury was a better choice based on me talking with several fellow powerlifters and doing my own research. Use bbth if you are injured and can afford it, as they are not that pricey.

Care to share the loading phase and protocol that you used? I've got a bad shoulder and knee.

In the product I linked to, there is a scoop that measures 1 Tbsp and 12G. You take two scoops for the first 7 days and then 1 scoop thereafter. Make sure you are getting 3 Grams total (combined EPA and DHA) of Fish oil.
