McConnell super PAC working against Mo Brooks in Alabama Senate race

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is accelerating his campaign to defeat Rep. Mo Brooks in a special Senate election in Alabama.
The Kentucky Republican, through his affiliated super PAC and political nonprofit, is trying to clear a path for appointed Sen. Luther Strange in the Aug. 15 special primary. Brooks, a Republican and member of the House Freedom Caucus, has emerged as Strange's chief obstacle.
Senate Leadership Fund, McConnell's super PAC, and One Nation, SLF's 501(c)4 sister organization, have been alternating weeks on Alabama television with ads promoting Strange.
This week, SLF is expected to ratchet up the pressure on Brooks with ads attacking the congressman for opposing President Trump during the 2016 GOP presidential primary. Brooks supported Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas in that race.
"Being anti-Trump in Alabama will hurt Mo Brooks," SLF spokesman Chris Pack told the Washington Examiner in an interview. Unlike his polling nationally, Trump is popular in Alabama, and the group's polling shows that past opposition to Trump could hurt Brooks, Pack said.
The McConnell super PAC and One Nation have budgeted $10 million to boost Strange in the special election. If neither candidate wins more than 50 percent of the vote on Aug. 15, the top two finishers will proceed to a Sept. 26 runoff. The general election is Dec. 12.
McConnell is a snake in the grass Bama. Vote Mo Brooks. This is the same crap McConnell pulled against Chris McDaniel in Mississippi '14 to get Thad Cochran reelected.
Mo Brooks is not one of McConnell's yes boys. Luther Strange is very McCuckish.
Be careful Bama.

McConnell has no guiding principles.

I'm confused by your tactics

He is not a NeverTrumper in terms of McCain and Graham. He's a NeverTrumper in terms of Cruz and Lee. Books has the type of ideology to pull Trump and the Senate right. The Senate already has enough RINOs.

The last poll I saw had Roy Moore up by 10 pts and Brooks was polling in the single digits.
Anyone got anything more recent than that?
Brooks said he'll read the Bible on the Senate floor until they fund the wall. It takes balls to make that kind of statement.
I know Moore is polarizing, but I love his F/U attitude to the establishment and he's damn sure a fighter. Like him or not, you have to give him credit for that.

Sorry, but I'm not voting for a bum that will put a knife in Trump's back as soon as it's politically expedient. We have enough bitch arse republicans like that already

Brooks supported Ted Cruz during the primary season (Brooks was Cruz's go-to in AL). When Trump became the nominee Brooks supported Trump vocally and financially. Brooks has continued to vocally support the Trump agenda.
Now McConnel is supporting Big Luther Strange. Strange never supported anyone during the primary season because he did not want to take a stand. Strange was a K Street lobbyist before he got into AL politics as a candidate. What I find strange is that McConnel and Strange are trying to label Brooks as a never Trumper when Strange, to my knowledge, NEVER supported Trump until he started paying lip service to him after he was elected. If you want a wall, support Mo Brooks, period. McConnel is not spending as much money on Strange for nothing in return. Ask youself this, why is McConnel dumping so much money into a race for Senate in AL when it is a conservative stronghold? That money would be much better spent in more competative races. McConnel is trying to establish roadblocks to the Trump agenda.

You need to send people to D.C. who believe in things, believe in principles, have guiding ideas and a structure in their lives to enable them to remain stable in their beliefs. Not sure why we have a hard time figuring this out. We vote for politicians and then get surprised when they act politically.

Moore has a hard ceiling in my opinion. Will he make a run-off? Yes. He will finish second.

Mo Brooks came out in support of medical pot the other day, and some no-name State Senator dropped out and endorsed him.
Baby steps.

Huh?
Brooks promised to filibuster every spending bill (while reading the Bible) unless funding for "the wall" is included. He's trumping Trump in terms of being an imbecile.

They are. And the fact that Big Luther took an appointment from Bentley and now money from McCuckle tells me all I need to know about that lumbering lobbyist.
frick him. Mo may be crazy as a shithouse rat but he is his own man and says what is on his mind. He has my vote.
