Update
Last night was my return to the gym, did regular 5/3/1 for OHP and Squat, and 5x5 chins(unweighted), 5x10 face pulls and 3 sets of dumbell shrugs to failure. Felt weaker on squat which is a bummer considering that is where I was making my most progress. Didn't feel as weak on OHP but I have definitely lost strength in the past week. Then this morning I did a 7.5 ride on the Air Dyne bike
I haven't eaten any carbs since Monday but even then I still suffered my usual nighttime symptoms of excessive thirst, fast heartrate and frequent urination that I have attributed to high blood sugar so it took me a few hours to fall asleep. I haven't experienced that since last Tuesday so I am guessing going to the gym is what triggers this. My macros yesterday were 229 protein 193 fat 20 carbs(all carbs came from veggies). Perhaps it is the excessive protein + kidney/liver/digestive issues that trigger these symptoms, as I read excess protein gets converted to glucose, although I never got the symptoms on days I didn't workout. Perhaps its a combo of the protein/working out + cortisol response. At least I got some sleep though and wasn't up all night, probably got 6 hours worth.
Maybe not be a bad development. The fact I never experienced any high blood sugar issues when I had cheat days, or am on vacation(and ate like a pig every day) and sleep perfectly fine those days, leads me to believe perhaps this may not be blood sugar/diabetes related, and more of my body's response to high protein + working out on the same day leading to stress and anxiety. That was the original diagnosis I got in April when I first went to a doctor over this. Stay tuned

lower the protein then. john bernardi has the get shredded diet where he says do 35% protein, 65% fat, the last 10% coming from green veggies.
