Bought a safety razor tonight.

I've read the few threads on here about safety razors & the benefits thereof.
Wow! Best shave I've ever had. Thanks OT!
Edit: I usually use a 5 blade razor, but I was curious. Tonight I went out and bought a safety razor. Wow! You guys were right. It gave me an awesome shave! No nicks, no cuts, no pulling the hairs, nothing but an amazing shave! It gave me one of the closet shaves I've ever had (better than the 5 blade razors!) It also left my skin feeling very, very smooth. I am hooked. I will never go back to my former razors anymore. From here on out it is nothing but a safety razor for me!

I've been using one for a couple of years now. I love it. Smoothest shaves ever.

That's actually the one I use.

Spread the word. Put an end to 5 blade nonsense

Just be sure and use a good quality blade and it will make the experience even that much better.
And just hope you don't get bit by the bug and start buying antique razors.

the one thing my dad passed on to me was to teach me how to shave iwth a straight razor
also it's so cheap. i have had to buy some witch hazel last month but that was $7 dollars and thats all i've spent on shaving all year and i shave everyday because i'm bald.

Couldn't have posted this in one of those?

Great shave and I spend about $10 a year on razors.

Is there one safety razor that is superior to others?

Feather blades are the sharpest.
Screw that Taylor crap....get some Hudson Made shave soap.

So feather blades are good, but just use them in any razor, or are they specific to their own razor?
Thinking of giving safety razors a try.

Use them in any safety razor. They're stupid sharp.

Amazing how good you feel after a nice shave

If you start mixing and matching it becomes an obsession, almost. I find, as do other serious shavers, that I'm getting my best shaves with Astra blades or Shark. Although I have had decent with Feather, as well.

I wouldn't recommend feather blades starting out. Once you get used to it then sure, but those things can cut diamonds it seems like.

Does dollar shave club offer them?

Anyone ever had a barber or other professional give them a shave? Worth it or waste?

I like Merkur razors.
I use Merkur (Germany), Feather blades (Japan), and Proraso soap (Italy).
With Pinaud Clubman aftershave (US/France).
