No it isn't.
However the cost of living in new Orleans has really shot up in the last 10 years. It isn't reflective with what you get in return, whether that is schools, streets, utilities or safety.

Crime in the French Quarter has never been tolerated since the city is so dependent on that area projecting an image of raucous good times.
To think this can't negatively impact the city is shortsighted.

True but here is some of the rub. Kazillions of dollars were pumped into New Orleans AND other areas as a result of Katrina. Fine, as we do same for other areas brought low by Mother Nature. What we don't witness is the self inflicted wound of significant crime as seen in the Crescent City and some, like me, see nothing less than an ungrateful populace, right or wrong. I understand areas such as Chicago are likewise inundated with crime and I know my view about New Orleans is simply an emotional view. However, other areas humbled by Mother Nature don't go to shat in a handbag.
However, growing up there, she has lost her former greatness and charm and somebodies better get a handle on this blight. It can be done but I fear the will is not present to change course as her city leaders are failing the populace.
