I know Eric Walker & Caleb Gilbert, could be starters, but is there somebody that we signed that could be The Sunday Starter, because Zack Hess is Lights Out coming out of The Pen.

I don't think so. As fun as it is to see Hess as a closer, he'll be more valuable as a starter next year.

I'm just hoping we avoid an Ott 2.0

Why the hell would you want to keep in the pen? Build up his stamina and let the kid bring the gas. He can throw 95mph consistently if he does the right conditioning programs and keeps his arm healthy.

we have 3 outstanding freshmen pitchers this year. hopefuly, we can come up with at least one more for next year. two would be better.

I'll answer a question with a question. Do you want Hess to pitch 7+ innings on the weekend or just 2 or 3 or maybe even none if the games aren't close?

Having a shutdown closer has immense value at any level. When he comes into a game , he is max effort. He will be a great Friday night starter but dam he is nasty out of the pen. I guess that is why CPM gets paid the big bucks.
