It seems like in life, you sometimes need a good arse whooping. And it also seems like there is always somebody willing to do it. GEAUX

So when you got your arse beat playing sports did you run home crying like a little baby cause you were mentally fricked or did you man up?

Are you dense? My replies were not about giving up it was about a terrible loss on a national stage and my argument is yes losing teaches but that was an embarrassment and you're all Yippee ki-yay about it.

Hey man I'm not happy about it I'm pissed off and ready to fight so if I feel that way imagine how the team must feel right now.

All I'm saying is a loss like that in a game such as it is will be tough mental thing to get past. And you're not only dumb but delusional if you think the otherwise.

No it won't be at all because they know they created that arse whopping. Play like you know you can and you can absolutely beat them

We got punched right in the frickin mouth!
If that doesn't motivate the hell out of this team we never had a chance to be champions anyway.
Here's to a pissed off and fired up bunch of Tigers the rest of the series!!!

How much does being "fired up and pissed off" really help you in baseball? It's such a precision game. You get a pitcher out there who is over-amped/angry, which could lead to him overthowing and missing the strike zone. You might be "super" fired up at the plate. But is that going to make your more aggressive and cause you to lose focus? I don't care how fired up you are. It's still very difficult to hit a baseball. Pressing in the field can lead to errors and dumb plays.

Baseball is not like football or basketball where that shot of adrenaline can make you bust through a would be tackler or run the floor faster than your opponent.

To me, the best thing you can do in baseball is refocus on the little things. Maybe more than any other sport, pressing gets you in trouble.

One of Skip Bertman's teams got beat something like 28 to 2 by Alabama and then turned around and whipped their arse in the national championship game when it really counted.

Link? I love the energy of your OP, but I don't think this ever happened.

If we are gonna take one, that was the time, that was the score and that was the team.

My feeling is they should have been ready to fight to begin with.

Wikipedia the 1997 LSU baseball team.
We got beat 28 to 2 by Alabama on May 10 and turned around and beat Alabama 13 to 6 in the national championship game. It happened!

Our 100% only loses to OSU like 10-3 instead of 13-1. They are shite loads better than us.

OSU isn't 12 runs better than LSU. Look at their schedule. They've only beaten 3 teams by 10+ and only one other win (21-30 UC Davis) by the 12 run margin they had against LSU yesterday. Unless you think LSU is literally the worst team that Oregon State has played this year.

It took an incredibly, historically bad performance by LSU to lose as badly as they did yesterday. This year's freshman class hadn't even been born the last time LSU gave up that many free passes.

The only thing I'm glad about is waiting for the Championship Series before I drove to Omaha.

There was a lot of time between that May 10 game and the National Championship game in addition to other games in between. Today, we have a day and a half, basically, to get over it.
